Beverly Garland, versatile actress in film and TV, dies at 82 - Los Angeles Times: "Beverly Garland, whose long and varied acting career ranged from B-movie cult stardom in the 1950s portraying gutsy characters in movies such as 'Not of This Earth' and 'It Conquered the World' to playing Fred MacMurray's wife on the sitcom 'My Three Sons,' has died. She was 82.

Garland, who also was an involved owner of her namesake hotel in North Hollywood, died Friday evening after a lengthy illness at her Hollywood Hills home, said son-in-law Packy Smith."

Aw man.. I just saw her a few years ago at a Horror con here in NJ. She was so friendly and full of life and loved to talk and meet her fans.  She looked well but it just goes to show you..
She will be missed . Thanks Beverly for all those fun movies and roles you played. Rest in Peace..

Wow. What a rough year it has been for fandom. Now Beverly Garland too?

Beverly Garland always made me feel safe whenever I watched one of her films. She had this "mother quality" about her. And she looked good too. I loved her in "It Conquered The World".

You know .. she still looked damn good in that pic of yours Tom. A classy lady who will be dearly missed!

I met her just once, and loved her on sight.  She was funny as heck, loved to laugh!  A pleasure to have known, however briefly.  This adds another sad loss to a year that has had too many already!

A classy, vivacious lady who made many of the movies she appeared in better simply by being there. Always terrific at autograph shows too with her outgoing, friendly personality. A terrible loss we did NOT need on top of losing Forry. What an awful week.

 I watched her earlier this year in the "Alligator People", not knowing she would be gone by the end of the year.  As Mike has just stated, this has been a truly horrible week for monster fans worldwide.  I remember watching her when I was little in My Three Sons, and various movies.  She also made appearances on Twilight Zone, and twice on spy show Wild Wild West.  I have met Forry, but there will always be a regret at never meeting Beverly Garland.  The Stars of our special universe are blinking out too rapidly, leaving empty space in our hearts.  As long as we remember them, they will always exist.

So sad.  In Tom's pic she looks fantastic.  I remember her from My Three Sons.  I didn't know she was in SciFi movies.

AYE, TROOPS,
... BEVERLY was charismatic, gutsy, brilliant; a stand-out, in the many films, in which she appeared. She embodied the toughly resilient female, an earth-mother, with overtly sexy overtones; mayhap the First, of that Cinematic breed, which, later, evolved, into the XENA /  BUFFY / ANGELINA JOLIE Brigade. May Her SOUL Rest, in GOD'S PEACE, EVERNOW.

~~~ Likewise, We remember "NINA FOCH, our little NIKKI, from RETURN OF THE VAMPIRE.", as Brother MARIO writ. That movie, of which I recently procured a copy, is among my Favourite BELA Films, and, she is, one, of the reasons, why!
... The L.A. TIMES has  a very finely written, in-depth remembrance, of her life, talents and work, on-line... she was, in all things, a real stunner!
... Here, is an except from the article. Please, give it a read, on-line... you'll be as amazed, as I was, by her height, breadth, & depth, of Being! May She, too, EVERNOW, KNOW GOD'S BENEDICTION, OF PEACE & LOVE.
