Seriously?

IMO Messiah Marcolin Kills Ozzy.
Nick Holmes from Paradise Lost for the HEAVY DOOM style is unquestionably THE best. Hands down!! Ozzy wishes he could have been at this level. Paradise Lost learned from Sabbath ans so smokes them with crushing singing , riffs, and emotion.  u6juu

I wouldn't go as far as saying Messiah is a better singer than Ozzy, but Messiah does rule all (I will admit that Ozzy's voice has gone to hell over the past 10-15 years).

Speaking of Candlemass, Leif has a new band called Avatarium and they rule!

Yes, you're right. Although the Stones by 1969 were playing stadiums, they can't be considered a "stadium rock" band. That term applies for bands whose music is best suited to being played in stadiums, if not specifically designed for stadium play, e.g. that of Queen. The Stones started out playing rhythm & blues covers of black musicians such as Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Chuck Berry, Otis Redding and Solomon Burke in small hole-in-the-wall clubs. Their music evolved from there but it never became "stadium rock".

Don't want to go off track of the thread BUT... speaking of Stadium/Arena rock THIS imho is THE greatest song in that genre ever. And me being an old school metal/death/goth/punk/industrial guy is saying alot.
The Stones are nowhere near this. It's too clean, perfect etc for them.

Yes. They out the blues element from rock and substituted grandiosity in its place.
