You know, usually I find something I genuinely like, even in the cheapest, corniest movies, anddoggone it,  this 1960 Columbia product certainly has  a lot to "like". It has the very cheap look I enjoy so often (the chairs in their spaceship are obviously just plastic lawn chairs, and their lack of faceplates for their helments are explained away as being "invisible electronic sheilds"). The 12 "international" crew members are meant, I suppose, to inspire some sort of message about universal brotherhood, but start squabbling almost as soon as the rocket takes off.

When they land, the moon is tested for air (there's none!!!) Guess they didn't read their How and Why Wonder Book about the moon before leaving. The moon ends up being home to a grouchy telepathic race that decides to freeze North America with "implosion bombs" (just like a nuclear reaction, they explain, only reversed....huh??) because we're so violent. The aliens aren't ALL bad though...they allow a kissy-kissy pair of astronauts  to stay with them (a man and a woman-it's still 1960 after all), and they insist on keeping the two cats that were sent on the expedition (to see if they would breed on the moon...hey try to stop the crew!)

Eventually the aliens are convinced to stop freezing N.A. because two of the remaining astronauts are willing to sacrifice themselves in an attempt to thaw out the continent, and the two pairs of lovers they kept for observation (human and felne) apparently had been putting on quite a show for them.

Anyoen else enjoy the corny action of 12 to the Moon?
Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.

MST 3000 aired it.  It's one of their better episodes.
