Hi all,
I got a great surprise last night as I was watching METV(Memorable Entertainment Television)? My cable company switched me to digital last Monday. Great channels and several more classic tv channels such as METV. I was watching last night(July 7th) when a commercial came on with Svengoolie, who hosts his show on METV and presents classic horror films and horror themed films.Last night it was Lon Chaney,Jr in The Mummy's Ghost  First Universal horror film I have seen on TV in a very long time. I think next weeks film is Francis the Talking Mule In A Haunted House. Great to have the classic monsters back on TV.

Yep, I have that, thank goodness!  Our Dish Network doesn't show what's on, though, which sucks.

The digital system is great.it has its own guide on screen to show what's on and descriptions.

I am actually the one responsible for getting METV on our cable system. I heard about the channel and told my boss about it. He told me to do the research and give it to him an he would take it to his meetings. It took about 2 years but it paid off. Last May my boss sent me a congratulations e-mail and  we had the channel 2 days later. Saturday night is the best night.  With Batman, Lost In Space Star Trek and Svengoolie, tv hasn't been this good in a loooong time. Svengoolie is funny and showing Universal Monster films guarentees I get to see at least 1 a week. Even my son likes the show. Of course all the other great old shows are a good time also.  A great channel that does what TV Land was supposed to do but ended up failing to do.

I have DirecTV, so I don't get it, but the cable service on campus does! Woot! Definitely going to check it out!

I am always facsinated by our excitement when we find out a Universal monster movie is going to be on T.V., like House of Dracula is going to be on Svengoulie tonight.  This goes for any other great monster movie being on t.v. as well, and someone here will tell us when and which channel it will be on.
I know that probably 95% percent of us have these movies on dvd or even vhs and can watch them at any time we want but we still get excited about it going to be on regular t.v., including me.

I'd either have to upgrade to my cable company's HD package (and I don't have HDTV, so it'd be kinda pointless), or get a digital convertor box to pick up the over-the-air signal on Ch. 18.3. I didn't buy one back when analog signals stopped because I have cable. Catch-22!

Unfortunately I can't find any of the classic Universal horror films on dvd unless around Halloween then at Wal-Mart it is just Darcula and Frankenstein.I do have the 1925 Phantom of the Opera on a Horror film 50 movie compilation set.
