Here's a wide shot to show the whole room at once:
Sweet! You should encase it in plastic so you never have to worry about dusting all those little things. Unless you wanna go for the dusty cobwebed look. LOL Where's Dorian?

Beautiful work, Robert! With a bid of mood lighting this would be indistinguishable from a full sized room, your attention to detail is amazing and really makes the whole display work.

Robert,
The completed Haunted Library is perfect ! You feel as if you can walk in ,pick out a book
and sit down ,as long as you move the skeleton out of the way !!
Great job !

Dorian Gray's portrait is on the far right wall.  You can just make it out in one of the closer-up shots.  The diorama does have 3 walls, floor and ceiling, and last night I made a 4th wall so it can be shut up entirely.  During the months of being in progress, it DID get dusty.  I used a little paintbrush to clean the dust off, and I never want to do that again!  lol  I've rigged up overhead lighting (the ceiling is glass--and I'm not talkin' socio-economic glass) via a string of those really tiny lights--rice or wheat lights, I've heard them called both--and when they're turned on, the lighting looks "real life", with dim corners, shadows cast--and you'd swear you were looking at a real room, a Hammer movie set, maybe!  Thanks again for the comments--all the work on this was worth it.

Robert, well done now that is a crib I would like to hang out in. Is the Dorian Gray's portrait in a fast food scooby-doo give away as it looks so familiar.

You mean the picture itself?  Googled it and a buddy smallified it and printed it (and the other artworks) for me in varying small sizes--and I matched them to the sizes of the various mini frames I had corralled via Ebay.

Just gorgeous, really... I want to live there, hahah! With a miniature bathroom and kitchen, of course... but seriously, wonderful attention to detail, lighting, just the whole composition. I wish I had time to do this kind of thing again, I used to do the diorama thing many miles and years away from where I am now. They are all in the possession of friends now. Eh, memories!

Some say imitation is the highest form of flattery... others regard it as an invitation to a lawsuit over intellectual property rights. I hope that SHADOWMANN is one of the former because I shamelessly stole his avatar and, with a few modifications, made a 1/6 scale version of it:

Now I need an instruction manual, though, because I can only get Frankie to raise one arm....

Beautiful work. With a little more juice I think Frankie will be up and about in no time. Is the front panel a print out or are there actual three dimensional pieces connected? It also looks like it lights up, does it?

Speaking of Dioramas, did I ever show you guys this one?

Too cool!  Makes me grin, looking at it--monster kid memories, indeed!

Yes, the front panel is basically a printout of SHADOWMANN's wonderfully photoshopped creation. To this are added several things, including different sizes of acorn nuts for the dials. The new discovery I'm happiest with, though, is what gives the impression that some of the instrumentation actually lights up. I used clear, plastic surface protectors (the little stickums you might put under a calculator to keep it from sliding around). Since these are lens-shaped, they reflect back room light aggressively and make certain dials look like they're lit from behind.
