REST, IN PEACE, PERPETUAL, JAMES!
I scribed this Limerick a couple, of days, ago. {p. 104} Br'er ROBERT TAYLOR'S Tribute, via BOB BURNS, was awesome! And the THING photo, showed the UNIVERSAL Classic FRANKENSTEIN tie-in, Make-Up-wise... a then- "Modern" prosthetic appliance, paying Homage, to the Great and Timeless JACK PIERCE Creativity!

Whether SHERIFF, or, "THING", he was BEST!
      He played a COWPOKE,

Thanks so much for posting this.  I missed it entirely.

How nice that he was able to leave behind a personal goodbye to all his fans.  So many older stars just disappear one day.  His quick smile always seemed to hint that he was a warm, good-humored guy.

I am saddened at his passing.

I just wish the studio would speed up the release of the early (and best) seasons of Gunsmoke on DVD.
