"P.S. Say Craig, is that wee picture you doing your Sherlockian turn?"

How kind of you to notice, Meek.

It is indeed - my first of several, in the William Gillette play at the Heritage Playhouse years ago.

(One of my later Sherls will be trodding the cyber-boards next month, in honor of A.C. Doyle's birthday...)

Best,
-Craig W.

Dear Andy-

"I was thinking about the difference between living in a big city like New York and where I'm at in the midwest."

There is one, sho nuff.

"It would drive me crazy to have so many people around me!  Just walking down the sidewalk it looks like people are right up against you in NY."

Yes, & no. Mainly, it's a matter of tuning yourself; and, we all get very good at using the eyes in the back of our heads, & tacking.

"I guess you would have to de-sensitize yourself or you'd go nuts!"

Again, it's just tuning. When I visit the old hometown, Defiance Ohio, I have to recalibrate: the first time somebody says, "Mornin'!" as I cross the main drag, it takes me aback.

All best,
-Craig W.

(P.S.- The big secret, though? After they have done the quick instant test to find each other trustworthy, New Yorkers are the kindest, most open, most helpful folk I've ever met.)

That's good to know, Craig.  I'm glad that it's a re-tuning rather than a de-tuning! ;)
