I know I'm not the only one. Who else has Beethoven, Wagner or Bach on your MP3 player?

I think we're definitely in the minority here at UMA, but it's almost the only thing I listen to -- classical music, movie scores and Polynesian music (I play bass drum for a Tahitian dance troupe).

Some of my classical favorites include Beethoven's nine symphonies, piano concerto #5 (Emperor), all Tchaikovsky, Mahler's Symphony of a Thousand (#8) (saw it performed live -- spectacular!), a many other orchestral pieces. For film scores, anything dramatic and orchestral, whether they be for horror / sci-fi films or not. From John Williams to John Carpenter, Bernard Herrmann, Hans Salter, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, etc. Lots of fine film composers out there.

No, you're not the only one.  Beethoven, Bach, Grieg, Wagner, Strauss, and the list goes on.  I began listening to classical music when I was in high school and have been a fan since.  I was also surprised to find many of the cartoons I enjoyed had classical music scores.

Oh Yeah! It's the good stuff! We all listen to classical music in my family   
Mendelssohn 5, Mahler 1 & Brahms 1 are ALL my go-to classical pieces. I'll listen to most music, but I'm not a big Aaron Copland fan.
I also own a lot of Glass music & I LOVE the new-ish album- Symph. no. 10.
I could go on all day

 After my classic rock favorites, classical/symphonic music is what I enjoy the most. I'm especially fond of early music: Renaissance, Medieval, & Elizabethan.

I first encountered Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring in the form an instrumental song called Joy by the group Apollo 100.  I always enjoyed the song, but did not connect it to a classical song when it came out.  About 20 years later, I heard Jesu being played on a piano in a mall during the Christmas season, but was not able to talk to the pianist to get the title, but I knew all I had to do was to keep listening to classical music, and I'd get it.  Then one day at church, the organist played the song, and I was able to ask her the title.  I went out the next day and got a cd with that song on it.  During a history class in high school, we were shown a film series about religions of the world, and Foccata was the theme to that.

I like almost all classical music.  Debussy, Dvorak, Grieg,  Rimsky-Korsakov, are just a few favorites.

Not a big fan of the genre BUT I do have a great love of symphometal ,neoclassical darkwave and high end gothmetal.
Therion is a great band and along with the dark metal also has full symphonies and pro opera singers.
