I read where a darker green paint was used for these pieces instead of a lighter green used for the green plastic molded ones. Heritage did mention that the weight was heavier, but I wonder??

Yeah , i own an original speaker and looking at that , it looks like an original. Why would a guy with a collection of the rarest of rare stuff have a repro of anything? Boggles the mind.

I've seen one poor photo of it. When you write "they", you don't mean Pressman, correct? I would love to know the name of the company that released the belt buckle.

Quite the buy at $475 and a helluva mistake on the part of Heritage if so!

I didn't read the details on that. Didn't they play it up, at all, or just "Here's an old kite for ya."

Hi Darkmonkeygod.  Sorry for any confusion here, for the Frankenstein keychain and belt buckle, it was the ads in old FM's selling them, I don't know who the maker of them was.

Huge collection of RARE '60s UM and other monster toys. Large pics! (If you're registered.)

I get nothing at all from that link. Any Standard Plastics monster wallets or a Mad Mad Mad Scientist Laboratory?

Quote from: horrorhunter on October 09, 2025, 05:01:50 PMWith all of that MPC goodness I'm surprised there isn't a Haunted Hulk. They even have the Monster Checkers Set, and it's listed as by "Cardinal" instead of MPC. They got the name wrong on the Daffy Daddy-Ohs, they call them "Uglies". Some great boxed Hamilton's Invaders sets, too.

I'm just going to copy all of these pictures for this treasure trove! Probably as close as I'll ever get to most of it.

Could you post the Hamilton's Invaders items in the Hamilton's Invaders thread?

Hep, click back on that link, go to past sale prices in dark blue box above, then go to select auctions box in light grey above, look for the October 24 horror auction, see if you get the pictures.

Well that may be an option now. Yesterday night I wasn't even getting the Heritage website.

Monster Mafia

I'm curious as to why the kite was advertised as Dracula kite but the packaging just says monster.  It bears a slight resemblance of a bloated, widow's peakless Lugosi.  I wonder why Pressman kept the Universal copyright on it?  I mean if they paid for licensing, why not use "Dracula" on it.  Even though, I think they could use the word Dracula without any license.

Assuming Bela's kid was blocking it due to image (which was exaggerated), maybe that's why Pressman dropped the Dracula from packaging. ??  But then if they marketed as a generic monster kite, why the need for the Universal copyright?  Maybe they just forget to remove before printing?

If the lawsuit from Bela's kid wasn't in question, then I guess you could assume the distorted illustration used was the reason it needed the copyright.  But then why not use "Dracula" on kite instead of "Monster" on packaging since you promoted as "Dracula" in advertising.

I know I'm overthinking this, but the kite's packaging may have always been printed as monster kite but when the person wrote up ad for it, that person labeled as Dracula kite because of resemblance to Lugosi.

Which of course goes back to why Pressman had to use the copyright.  And this may have been before the Lugosi estate lawsuit was settled.  Universal still had claims to "image" of its "Dracula".  But then why not use "Dracula" on the packaging if you are being charged to license it?

Questions I ponder as I head out to take up leaves in the backyard.
