We have window painting contests, haunted hayrides through town where you can sign up to be a 'scarer' (you don't have to be from town), pumpkin contests, a parade..... the works.

Go Sean!  What state do you live in?  We have an old downtown area that they recently revitalized and they usually have downtown TOTing the Saturday before Halloween.  But as I've posted before, there seems to be a renewed  sense of Halloween spirit where I live, especially since 2001. Kids seem to look forward to Halloween when us crazy folk start putting up the decorations!  We are gonna strike tonight, so that when the bus goes by in the morning, the yard will be transformed (we are on a corner). We also work all night after Halloween, so the decorations will be gone on Nov. 1st. We have a 5 year old grandson that I pick up from school every Tues/Wed., so our deadline is Monday night to have ALL decorations up.  It's cool to see them amazed at what the yard looks like over night!

Very cool, Charp!  I live in Freehold, NJ.  There is Freehold Township and Freehold Borough-----I live in the Borough.... it's a more tightly knit community with older homes and closer neighbors.  More of an 'olde towne' feel.
