Dear Grape. Your comments regarding Kong and the film's skillful use of cinematic foreplay was a delightful read. Until I read your post, I never realized just how important this "foreplay" was to the impact one feels upon finally seeing Kong for the first time. Your right. I can't think of another fantasy film that executes this point so clearly. Thanks for your comments!

I'd guess that a lot of us who've seen the film a hundred times may very well have lost our appreciation for just how beutifully it builds since we already know what's coming.

It's worth the effort to try to watch it with fresh eyes.
