Also, I must share this, I had an acquaintance who one commented "I don't understand why the Oscars and the Academy Awards are always on the same night. They really should space them out more."

Hmmm? Perhaps this should be looked into, first. Wouldn't want to be the sixth guys handing out awards for the same thing.

Those Poppies are coming from a completely different place. They're all about picking the most insanely detailed, big ticket, Hot Toys super deluxe collector's figure, or hyper-articulated Ninja Turtles.  There are some monsters here and there, but the focus is on super heroes and fantasy.

The award should be in the form of a plastic model kit that the winner has to put together and paint. 

(Though I admit that would be a much better award for a model builders society.)

The watchtower from the original Frankenstein film, might make an interesting trophy.

The award should be called "The Potato," in honor of The Old Dark House. It should look like a lumpy potato standing on end. During the award ceremony, as we hand each winner their trophy, the presenter will say, "Have a potato."
