KKK---they have changed the way the Select Jekyll was going to be packed/dispersed a bit, and what he was going to come with in regards to accessories from various pics I have seen. Is he back to coming with all the lab equiptment shown in the prototype pic? because it looks like there are a couple of vials and such in the packaged pic. Just curious.

Regardless---Mr. Hyde is the belle of the ball with this series. Its the figure that  made me back peddle and collect the ones I missed, once I heard he was forthcoming. I wish the Wolfman likeness would've captured Chaney the way this one captures Karloff and Hyde. Oh---if only we could've got Werewolf of London.  :'( :'(

King Kong Kang- I thought in an earlier post that you said Jekyll and Hyde wouldn't be branded under the Universal Monsters label, because it didnt fall under Universal's "Universal Monster" licensing agreement? Something about him falling under a separate Abbott & Costello license.  In this packaging shot he's clearly being branded as a universal monster (as he should be, IMO)

What changed here?

I knew that he would be, simply because it would have been too odd of an arrangement for the retailers selling these.  He has been branded as such since the first listings for the figure on Entertainment Earth (and the like) surfaced, which doesn't bode well for the Van Helsing figure and its inclusion in the line.   :o

On another note, I love both of these after seeing them in the packaging.  (I was unsure of the Hunchback, but I definitely think he's a beauty now.)  I won't bite on both versions, but I will definitely get the comic shop version.

I'm in for both versions of everything for series 4. The "intrusion" (not "inclusion") of generic Van Helsing will make this my last purchase of the T'R'U line.

There was some confusion on my part of what Jekyll and Hyde would come with from day one (which was, of course, well over a year ago, and things often change as pricing comes in from the factory). Jekyll comes with a ton of equipment for the lab table, not all of it seen in this shot. The Grandpa Munster figure had some of it, too.

I must have misunderstood the arrangement with Universal on Jekyll and Hyde, so apologies for the branding confusion on my part. I will wait and see what Van Helsing's packaging looks like before I make any more outlandish statements, or repeat what I've been told. :)

FYI, I don't know which of the three figures for 2014 will be TRU exclusive. Perhaps all or none of them, we simply don't have that finalized. So don't go swearing off TRU just yet -- you may have to go there for Creature, or Son of Frank, or even the Van Helsing figure once you realize you need it after all. ;) But seriously, we do have some cool stuff planned for him.

Just being an a-hole again, KKK. My mind is open (kinda).

Phantom Dave

I am very excited about the Jekyll/Hyde figures!  Can't wait!

I think that the Jekyll/Hyde and Phantom Mego-style will wind up being the very best monster figures of 2013 (not counting the Distinctive Dummies Hammer Megos). Rondos take note.

I'm not sure if Rondo likes custom toys. That might be a hard sell. But if they can get on the ballot, who knows. I'd like to see Matt Jaycox receive a Rondo for best fan artist, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Actually, Ray, I was referring to the EMCE Phantom and DST Jekyll/Hyde. Though, I too would love to see Matt J's talent acknowledged.

On the subject of Rondo's, I'd like to see Mezco take one home for their Creature as best stylized monster figure.
