My girls watched Looney Tunes Back In Action the other night (was actually about 2 weeks ago, been meaning to post about it) and I got a real kick outta the Area 52 scene.  I recognized alot of the references but you really have to love your sci-fi to spot them all!!

The first one is around 3min 15sec (Robot Monster in jar) but you get a better look at that one later...
The one around 4min 57sec was really unexpected and cool...

Yay!  I saw the Metaluna Mutant, The Body Snatchers guy and I thought I saw a creature leg, but I'm not sure. I'll have to watch it again, in fact- I need to see this whole movie!

FACTO2

One of my all time favorite Joe Dante scenes.

We have...

Fiend without a Face
Dr. Who
Forbidden Planet
Invasion of the Body Snatures
This Island Earth
Robot Monster
Alien from Close Encounters (or could be, or any number of other grays)
Obviously Marve the Martian
Them sound effect
Day of the Triffids
A number of weapons that could be from any scifi movie

For the life of me I can't remember the name of the silver alien with the big helmet.

The next five minutes get even cooler.

The Man From Planet X

I think the CE3K alien was the "Alien Autopsy" alien.

That's him, Man from Planet X.  Thanks for the gray cell refresh.   ;D

Could be right about the alien too.  It would be cool to meet Joe sometime to ask.

All those guys were replicated at KNB EFX. I talked to Greg Nicotero about all the stuff they included and he told me that they originally wanted to use some of the Blaisdell AIP monsters like the She Creature and the Saucer Men and others, but they couldn't settle on the rights. So, they had to settle for other, more cooperative creatures.
