Battleship was OK
I'd forgotten about Battleship, played that alot.

Mousetrap
I had a game called Crazy Clock, the same premise as Moustrap: a metal ball sets off a chain reaction. Anyone recall Tip It (or Tipit)? A plastic man balancing on his nose w/hoops in both hands. Players added discs on either side trying to make him fall.

If I remember right you get two men and you get to try to visit all the town spots before Bigfoot comes and steps on you.  The last player to survive wins.  If Bigfoot steps on you and the token is blank, you survived.  If there is a foot print your are squashed!  It was pretty cool.

Never really cared to play board games (still don't, much to my wife's frustration -- she loves 'em) -- but have collected quite a few based on my other collecting interests (comic strip characters, mostly)  -- Terry and the Pirates, Steve Canyon, Prince Valiant, Li'l Abner, Eddie Cantor's "Tell it to the Judge."  But I have 'em for the graphics, not for play.

I did have a Captain America board game as a kid -- wish I still had that one.  I remember that it was supposed to come with a free comic book -- but mine was missing the comic.

Just remembered one that I used to love playing, but haven't been able to find since:

Escape From New York.

I vaguely remember much of it but Snake Plissken was the coolest dude to a 9 year old. In fact he still is!

Doc, that's it!

It wasn't an RPG but it was made by TSR. They also made a wargame called "Onslaught!" which was very cool.

Check out Boardgamegeek.com and you will see pics of the game. Simple board and graphics with dice and cards. Haven't been able to find it eBay though.

-Alfred Hitchcock's Why (still have the "haunted house board" and a few pieces)
-Candyland (found the 50's version of the board at a flea market)
-Monster Old Maid (years ago a friend surprised me with a good condition set as a birthday present; I had totally forgotten about it. She gave it to me in a restaurant and I made a bit of a "scene" with my sudden enthusiasm).
-I also liked Authors; something about those watercolor portraits appealed to the young artist in me.

Oops. Those last two weren't "board games".
Also played a lot of Scrabble and Monopoly, as well as Stratego.

It been years since I played board games as a kid, my memory is almost faded. however I still remember it.

Disney's Robin Hood (I did play this few times with my family, but don't remember how it was played anymore)
Stratego (played it couple times)
Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase (couple times)
Mouse Trap (I actually just mess around with it instead)
Battleship (played couple times)
Monopoly (played couple times)
Clue (once or twice)

My grandma and grandpa used to have big collection of old board games, but now it got water damaged and grandma just throw them away anyway. I can't remember names of them, my mind is almost blank when I tried to think about them. I'm sure one is mummy game, tip it, two hockey stick games, and something else that I'm trying to figure out.

It is actually really cool looking & probably made a little better than the one that I played with in the 70s. I don't like the box cover though, its too new looking lol. If they made a new version of Which Witch or Séance or Haunted House I would buy those up in a heartbeat!!

If they made a new version of Which Witch or Séance or Haunted House I would buy those up in a heartbeat!!
Ghost Castle is the latest version of Which Witch.

Thank You! Awesome to find that out. I've seen Ghost Castle games on eBay & didn't realize they are a copy of Which Witch... which is a copy of Haunted House I believe. I noticed that there are ones from the 90s up to 2012 or so, I wonder if the graphics are different. Looks like I have some shopping to do. Thanks again!

I have this new incarnation of Arkham Horror as well as many of the supplements. Also have the original incarnation from the '80s. Great game for Lovecraft fans.

A streamlined easier to play version of Arkham Horror is Eldritch Horror:

Here are three extremely comprehensive books on board games by super collector Desi Scarpone:

The purple one at the bottom is more commonly found with a green jacket and is merely the revised Edition of the top blue book. I have the top two books and they are indeed drool worthy.

Here are a couple of pictures from Scarpone's collection of over 6000 board games:
