I know some of you have some Captain Action in the collections, as do I, and have discussed the same with others as well.

I had a CA as a kid- I always thought his outfit made him look like a gas station attendant, and the doll's face reminds me of George Bush, Sr.!

I was/am a huge fan of the toy, accessories, villain and sidekick! Face did have a bit of an unusal look about it, but hey, he had masks! DC, Marvel, Green Hornet, Phantom, Lone Ranger....

I thought Maxx FX was gonna be so cool with Monster Costumes, until it fizzled. Have one of those MIB, which has been baby handled :(

Captain Action was before my time but I do own some of the repros Playing Mantis made.  I have Green Hornet, Flash Gordon and Ming.

I hoped they would make a Buck Rogers repro Capain Action.

I had the original CA, along with his alter-egos, Superman, Batman, The Phantom, Aquaman & Captain America.  Also, had Dr. Evil.  No idea what happened to them.  I might have to get a repro someday, just to cure that ol' nostalgia bug!

LOVED CA because of the masks, but never got one. I was a GI Joe guy, but I don't have any left from my dissipated youth.

In news of spousal coolness though, Nancy just surprised me with a vintage GI Joe with the red flocked hair and beard from the 70s.

Big Time Fan!

Captain Action (along with Best Of the West) were two of my favorite
non-monster toys when I was a kid.

Bought the two new Captain Action & Dr. Evil figures from Cast-A-Way &
like them a lot-

wish they'd make more stuff along this line....
Action Boy & an in scale Silver Streak would be really cool!
(never had a Silver Streak)  :(

I've also been picking up the comic which hasn't been very good,
I'm sad to say-
Hoping that vol. 2 will be better~

Now, in DC Comics, CA was named Clive Arno, so I'm guessing DC retained licensing on that?

The comic book is coming along slowly.  It is picking up readership.  Recently the publishers teamed Cap up with the Phantom (Lee Falk's creation) with some good results.  I hope the creations continue.  The Zeroid comic looks to be awesome as well.

The packaging on these is very cool anyway-
Kind of a hinge on one side opens on the other & then snaps shut~

I had a Captain Action a loooooooong time ago. I had some of his own accessories and I had the Batman costume, Buck Rogers and Aquaman. I had Dr. Evil and also bought  the Aurora model. All I have left is the Aurora model in my attic. Never knew what happened to the dolls.

There was something funny with the recent re-issues... the arms would only elbow sideways or something. I have to dig one out to double-check but I remember thinking they'd done something with the elbows .... or am I nuts ?

I salted away a bunch of those 8-ball-headed, Vaderesque KNIGHTs OF DARKNESS dolls which were at one time abundant at flea markets over here. The body used the original CA mold. I figured if anything broke on an original, I was covered, more or less.

I still consider the CA Superman to have one of the best Superman head-sculpts of any toy or kit, ever. From back when no-one was afraid for Superman to be a father-figure.

I've not opened any of the newer issues...interesting.

Are your KoD still boxed? I have one which seems to be deteriorating on the shelf.

Boxed, no sir. All were found loose. I didn't even know they existed and then started turning up one after another in various states. Mind you, even that was in the mid-80s. How time flies.

I never had any GI Joe's as a kid, but had CA with Superman, Batman, Sgt. Fury, Aquaman, Spider-Man & Captain America.  The Phantom was the other one I kept hankering for and one lingered for years at the local Gibson's Discount Store.  I ended up getting frustrated at how the accessories would melt on onto each other despite my fairly anal storage attempts (hmmmm...that doesn't sound comfortable).

My brother broke the arm on my first CA and had to buy me a new one.  I sold them all in college via TBG.  Naturally I wish I had saved them and got a few vintage items in the 90's and some of the Playing Mantis stuff. As for the originals, Aquaman was the FIRST one I got and I remember we could only get Spidey via the Sears catalog.  Not many toy stores in our town back then. It made me mad that Spidey got a runner in front on one leg pretty quick!!! AAAGGGHHH!!!
