As a kid I loved the way the monsters were drawn in Jerry Lewis' comic book as well as Bob Hope's. Here is the great cover of issue #83. Obvious liberties were taken with Frankenstein and the Wolfman (dog?). Dracula has a nice Lugosi-ish air however.
Absolutely terrific!
Fun cover. That Wolfman looks more like an evil wombat than anything. Frankie has antenna almost like Robot Monster and Drac looks VERY well fed.
This issue runs about $35 in solid Fine condition tho I'm sure you can find a bargain on Ebay. I recently found a Donald Duck Giant that guides at $32 in VG condition for $6 delivered.
Jerry Lewis comics had quite a few covers that featured some sort of monster or super hero.
Here's #86. Hey! Is that our own U.P out for a snackie?

Here's #87--Love that Bob Oksner art!

And Tales Calculated to Drive You Bats always had monsters in it...

I seem to recall that the monsters in the Bob Hope comic were school faculty and were also ongoing in the series.... Dr Van Pyre, Prof Von Wolfmann. Not sure what the Frankenstein character was called.
Those Archie ones are great, Mon. I cannot wait to show my son as he regularly gets the Archie Digests that they sell at the supermarket checkout stands.
depressedlarrytalbot---in the Bob Hope comics the group of monsters were called the Faculty of Fear.
And the Frankenstein character was called coach Franklin Stein.
Bogey ---I came across this cool Archie image to show your son...

Does anyone remember the Dell Dracula and Frankenstein comics where they turned them into superheroes?
I think they were from the mid '60's.

Here's the Dracula. I think they might have done a werewolf one, too.

I found an image of the Werewolf comic.

Then there was Mr. and Mrs. J. Evil scientist, another '60's monster family.

Humorous cover from Dick Breifer's Frankenstein which ran for quite a few issues as a funny book.
Then turned to this and became a very violent pre-code horror comic.
Wow never saw any of these before, beautiful art work, lovin' this thread!!
That last one Wicked posted is awesome---a "tough guy" looking Frank busting out like that is damn cool!
I love the Breifer Frankensteins.Didn't he start those in the '40's?(very early)
Then there was this Classics Illustrated Frankenstein...
Then there was this Dell Frankenstein, I know it's been mentioned on this forum before.
And of course Dracula.
Dell also did the Wolfman and the Mummy and the Creature. I couldn't find good images of them but I know there are pics in the archives here.

Yea,he started out in Prize Comics as a pseudo super hero fighting Nazis during the big war.
Then the funny book then the pre-code stuff. I have a reprint of Frankies violent years and it is AWESOME. Anyone into pre-code horror needs to own this.

This wonderful thread seems to have dried up a year ago. Can we jump-start it? Monolith posted the cover of Archie's "Tales Calculated to Drive You Bats" #1 a while back. I never understood why that great little monster comic only lasted 7 issues from 1961-62 (and one reprint in 1966 years after the end of the original run).
Anyway, here are the covers from Bats #6, art by Orlando Busino (who did most of the art in all 7 issues):

Searching Mile High Comics' valuable site saved me the time of digging these out of my collection and scanning them.
Never was into Archie Comics. I did get the occasional Jerry Lewis comic book, because I loved the movie "The Family Jewels." Also watched the cartoon "Will the Real Jerry Lewis Please Sit Down?", which was very loosely modeled after that film. Don't remember the comics too well, as mice got to them a chewed them to bits!
I don't have an Adventures of Jerry Lewis 83, but I have an 87. Here's a scan:

I like the comics that do not regularly include our beloved monsters, but occasionally have them as guests on the covers or in their stories.
I uploaded some pictures of comics featuring Frankenstein to Flickr. I tried to show only covers that have not appeared in this thread yet.
None of my attempts at placing a working link here worked. Just go to Flickr.com and search PEOPLE for "monstersforsale" - Choose the photo set UMA- COMICS.

I loved that cartoon as a kid! Only ever had a handful of the comic books. Our local newsstand didn't carry it, so I only got it when I could get to one of the more well-stocked newsstands or drugstores in town. I don't think we got our first actual comic book shop until I was in high school.

I think there was an issue of Archie's "Bats" that had a mask also. I don't recall which issue it was.
When DC's licencing deal with Columbia Pictures for the Fox & the Crow and other Columbia cartoon properties was about to run out, DC introduced the Stanley and His Monster feature into the Fox & the Crow comic in an effort to keep the fans of the book with a new feature:

It didn't work. The Stanley and His Monster comic lasted only four issues once the Fox and the Crow feature disappeared with issue #109.
