Man, we're losing too many classic artists lately!! First Frazetta and now his some time collaborator Al Williamson has died.

He was a great artist in the vein of Alex Raymond. Those kinds of artists are really becoming scarce.

Who's left from the EC days, besides Jack Davis?
Al Feldstein, Angelo Torres, John Severin, Marie Severin (colorist), and Gene Colan (yeah, I think only one or two EC stories -- but that still qualifies) are still with us -- can't think of any more.
Another great contributor to Warren's CREEPY and EERIE is lost to us. These titles are where I first came to know his work, leading me to search out his earlier artwork , including his EC stuff. It's really sad to see the people I admired so much growing up disappearing. Of all his work, it will be his amazing artwork on the early Warren stories I will remember him for most. As long as I re-read these, he will remain alive to me at least in some fashion. Rest In Peace Al.
His work was magical--

I could have written this exact same post........and no matter how many we lose,I agree they'll always live within us Creepy.
Ugh, to upsetting for words.
CREEPY was my biggest exposure to Al.... When i started really appreciating his brilliant work for the first time. Scatter is right, both Al and Frank's magic is burned into our collective consciousness forever... The beat goes on. RIP to them both.
