I knew this one was coming, yesterday he had slipped into a coma.  Didn't care for Different Strokes myself, but it brought smiles to many people. Rest in Peace Gary Coleman.

From what I've caught over the years, the poor guy had a pretty hard go. I've always felt a bit sorry for him, & I certainly do now.

Talented child actor, troubled adult.  We've seen that happen too often.  Much physical illness, little parental love.  Peace be yours now, Gary.  No more troubles.  Like him or not, let's try not to be too judgmental.

RIP, Gary.  He got his start on TV doing a Harris Bank commercial in 1980 or 1981 "You should get a Hubert doll!" was his line.  One of the cutest little kids you ever did see.  Tried to find a video of that commercial but the couple I came across were pulled from Youtube for some reason or other.  Dana Plato (RIP) and Todd Bridges both fell into a bad way after (and during I guess to a degree) the show went off the air.

I shared an elevator with him at Chiller late one night. It was just the 2 of us at first, but soon a pile of drunks got on with us. They wanted to ''party'' w/Gary and when he said he wasn't interested they became verbally abusive. An ugly scene and a tragic figure. RIP  Gary.

Sad news, yet again. Seems like he had an awfully hard life. (Like many child stars.) May he rest in peace.

Had lots of fun watching Different Strokes. Seems like that was one of those "cursed" shows for the cast.
R.I.P Gary.

I read that Todd Bridges has turned his life around now. He had it rough but I'm sure all his memories weren't bad, and he appeared on the Simpsons which can't be bad. RIP Gary Coleman.

Diff'rent Strokes was a really funny show, we used to watch it all the time and Coleman was great in it.  A memorable performer.  RIP Gary Coleman.

One thing I respected about Gary was that he took a job as a mall security guard and he endured a lot of ridicule---------to which he remarked: "I'm not going to feel embarassed about making an honest day's pay".

Good for him............there's no shame in honest labor, whether its flipping burgers or cutting lawns or running a Fortune 500 corporation. All labor is noble. Now if I can only get Jordan to understand that. Every chore is met with pouting and resistance.........which only nets him more chores and fewer rewards.
