Well, as much as I said I would "never like this crap" as a kid--all the Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby...it rubbed off, and I admit to having "Rat Pack" cds next to my "Slayer" cds.
In my house, Sinatra and I think even more so Dean Martin were huge--at my grandmother's place, you could hear Perry Como playing as you walked up the driveway.
The discussion still gets heated over who has the best Christmas records--and for my money, its Bing.
So, when you need something relaxing and smooth--who is your favorite?
Do you REALLY need to ask? We all know who the greatest crooner of all time was.

That...just made my day!!! That is friggin epic!! lol
Always like Dean Martin!
Now, my opinion's going to be colored a bit by my own professional leanings, but I've always thought that Andy Williams is a real crooner, one of the last of a dying school which includes Steve Lawrence, Tony Bennett and Jack Jones.
And talk about best Christmas records? Andy. Mr. Christmas.
Jerry Vale,,,,good Mob music.
Bobby Darin. Especially the "That's All" and "This is Darin" LPs.

I can give it you ya there Mike C.
If you don't get something out of hearing "It's the most wonderful time of the year" with Andy Williams singing--you probably dont care much for the holiday.
I think Andy has a much more...hmmmm..
powerful delivery? Maybe more so then your Franks and Deans--if that makes sense.
Dean Martin................Harry Connick jr.............Michael Boubala (however ya spell his name) ;D
For songs, Dean Martin. For pure voice, Bing Crosby.
I'm a JOISEY girl. Sinatra...hands down, for the phrasing and breath control...and for musicality.
Number 2 is Dick Haymes
Number 3 is a toss up, with Perry Como, Buddy Clark and Jack Leonard.

I forgot about Perry Como. I love his Xmas music.
Yeah Perry Como is pretty darn epic when it comes to Ave Maria.

I forgot about Perry Como.
I always referred to him as Perry Coma. I find him so boring and bland I want to take a nap.zzzzzzzzzzz
Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music would be a crooner too I guess. And even Bowie at times.
We are Italian and my Grandparents would listen to Dean Martin. So Dino is my choice!
