I was watching The Funhouse(1981) a few days ago, and I noticed a Remco Frankenstein
in the young boys hands. He drops it on the floor after being startled, within a few minutes
of the movie. Has anyone noticed or is aware of any Monsters toys in films?
WENDIGO (2001) shows an 8" Imperial Wolf man during the opening credits. Pretty cool, I thought! In the original SALEM'S LOT, doesn't it show some Aurora Monsters and stuff in Mark's room? I remember thinking how cool that was and how it looked like a typical monsterkid's room.

Yup. He's working on a MIM Jekyll or Dracula or both. Also---lets not forget Monster Squad! Their clubhouse ooozed with Monster toys and lit. :o

I have to check-out Wendigo.
The 40 year old virgin has numerous Sideshow's and Mego's on show plus the Chaney Mummy as a cut-out.
The kid in Matinee had a bunch of monster stuff in his room as kid the kid in the original Salem's Lot.
The young kid in "Salem's Lot" had some Aurora monster model kits in his room. Corey Feldman had a bunch of cool monster masks and toys (possibly made by Tom Savini) in "Friday the 13th Part : The Final Chapter".
In Christmas Story under the tree there's a Frankenstein mask (looks like a Herman Munster mask). Even if it's a Don Post original Frankenstein from 1948, it makes for a bogus timeline on when the movie supposedly takes place (1940).
I think Jon Lovitz in THE BENCHWARMERS had a slew of Sideshow stuff. Not sure how much was UM though.
In Galaxy Quest, Brandon has at least a Frankenstein plus a few others as I recall.
Fright Night, evil Ed has loads of them
He Said She Said, Kevin Bacon is a big fan of the Wolf Man and has one on his work desk. He even has some cool lines about being like the Wolf Man, his own man, his own wolf, his own Wolf Man.
As mentioned, Salem's Lot does indeed have loads of monster models, in fact he uses a cross from one of them to ward off his friend turned Vamp.
Of course the Munsters has a little toy walking Frankenstein Herman mistakes for a new son and no one could ever forget Eddie's Woof Woof.
In Reality Bites, Ben Stillers character has a Dr. Zaius bank on his office desk. If I remember correctly, someone breaks it . . . which makes no sense as it was make of vinyl-ish material.
How about the kid in the begining of Creepshow--looks like Aurora kits on his dresser and haning from the ceiling.
In Frankenstein and Me, directed by Robert Tinnell, Earl Williams' room has numerous monster magazines and a few toys.
How about what movies "Should" have some monster toys or models in them?
I always thought it would have been cool in Silver Bullet for Corey Haim to have a wolfman either figure or model in his room. His Uncle could have believed that was what put the werewolf nonsense in his head, of course then finding out it is real.
Re: Silver Bullet - Wolfman toy placement . . . that would have made for some effective foreshadowing.
This isn't a monster toy specifically, but it is from a monster movie, and I've been obsessed with it since I saw this flick in the theaters in the 70s. At the beginning of "Godzilla VS Megalon" this little kid is riding on this sort of kiddie jetski in the lake. He sits on a big fish and two little fish on the sides spin around to propel the whole thing forward. It was so cool that I almost lost my mind when I was 10 years old.
John Waters SERIAL MUM starring Kathleen Turner.
The muderous Moms son has a shelf full of Aurorra Monster kits.
Joe Dante's MATTINEE starring John Goodman as a 'Wiliam Castle' like movieproducer.
A little boy has a Aurora Wolfman kit in the stage of completation on his desk, together with a Bama long box.
Rainer E.
This is not a monster toy at all, but I thought I'd give it honorable mention. On Bewitched in Tabatha's bedroom on a shelf is a Pebbles doll. The Pebbles and Tabatha dolls were both made by Ideal in around the middle of the 1960's.
Now back to monster toys.

I think Pebbles was a monster, right? LOL!!!!! :D
I can remember an episode of the MUNSTERS, and i think Bill Mumy was a quest and he has a wind-up Frankenstein and it was walking on the floor, and Herman thought it was his son.

I remember that! Think it was a Marx toy-
I always wondered about the spaceship the two
'martian' (who weren't really martians) kids had in the episode "If a Martian Answers, Hang Up" (1965)-
Was that a
real toy?

Haaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! ;D
Lots of later 60s and 70s Godzilla films (ALL MONSTERS ATTACK and SMOG MONSTER come to mind) had kids playing with their 'Zilla toys.
In Close Encounters of the Third Kind, when the UFO activates all the toys in the little boy's bedroom...
One of the toys is a Blushing Frankenstein who drops his pants and has his face light up red.
One of the best use of toys in a horror movie has got to be poltergeist. There were some sweet toys in that kids room ( mostly star wars) and when the incredible hulk was riding silver now that was absolutly hilarious!
There was one of those My Pet Monster plush things in Earnest Saves Christmas. And according to a friend of mine there was also one in Adventures In Babysitting. Man, for a toy that was C-list at best that thing really got around. I used to sleep with one of those stupid things when I was a kid. I wish I'd had a Petster instead.
The kid in the opening scene in Creepshow has stuff. I think Aurora models at the very least. I think I remember a Godzilla and a Rodan.
In Independence Day, the little boy was playing with a Mecha King Ghidorah toy. Thought that was cool.

That is a cool scene too! ;D
There's a statue of Frankenstein's monster in an episode of Enterprise. It's Tripps, the chief engineer.
Sorry about the font abou. the font.
TheY should be good now. Keep it real
In Godzilla vs. the Smog monster there is a scene with the little in the backyard with many choice Godzilla and related toys
worth thousands nowdays! He sends two of them down his sliding board a couple of times. 8)
The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant. Absolutely awful film. Casey Kasem and Pat Priest (Marilyn of Munsters fame). I saw it as a kid on late-night TV 40+ years ago. It's about a sicko who has his head transplanted onto the body of a mentally retarded man. But that man drops his toy robot near the end of the film, giving a clue to the people hunting down the criminal whose head is attached to his shoulders. Of course, he ends up dead.
Before the final credits roll, they zoom in on the robot. It's a Zeroid from 1968, which I still had sitting on my bedroom dresser the night I watched that film I wish I'd never watched.

It's a Toho Shogun Warriors Godzilla from '77. I literally started my day out today by watching Creepshow for the zillionth time and JUST noticed that Zilla for the first time on his shelf. Then I stumble onto this thread. Too weird!

Cool. I forgot about this thread. ..and I started it. Lol
How about TV? Early episodes of The Brady Bunch has an Ideal King Zor in the boy's bedroom.
There were a few episodes of the old Dick Van Dyke show that shoed Aurora monster kits in their son Richie's room.
In the Kevin Bacon, Elizabeth Perkins romantic comedy "He Said, She Said" Bacon has built Aurora models on his desk - Wolf Man, I think.
(Didn't he have Aurora models in "Hollow Man" as well?)

Multiple episodes of Dark Shadows in '67 showed a Major Matt Mason Space Station in the background of David's bedroom.

Cool. ;D
Was watching a Dick Van Dyke Show episode and spotted some Aurora monster kits.
In "Richie's" room, across from Van Dyke's head is an Aurora WOLF MAN and straight down from that is the GUILLOTINE kt.

MTM is holding the Aurora KING KONG kit.

Don't forget about The Monster Squad with all the monster posters ,mags, comics and Halloween costumes in their clubhouse.

And that's a Bride of Frankenstein in the other and a Creature on the chest by the lamp as well as what appears to be a Superboy. Shame on you for not spotting the Creature.
In the movie "Woman in White" there are Aurora Monsters to be seen. It's appropriate.

I knew there were other kits, but I couldn't make them out.
But you are he who lives, eats, breathes and dreams Creature from the Black Lagoon---are ye not? To miss the Creechie for you is nigh blasphemous ,lol. Shamey shamey shamey. 8)
Now go to the black board and write "I will never overlook my favorite movie monster again" 75 times, lol. >:D
In the film, The Invasion of the Blood Farmers. I spy a Frankenstein's monster Don Post mask. Maybe 800 line?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in that Dark Shadows picture, there's a Marx robot in back of the space station, and I think another one sitting on a far shelf.
In "The Lady in White," there's a scene in Frankie's bedroom at night. There are at least three built Aurora monsters near his window, and the curtain catches on Dracula.
I distinctly remember seeing a Marx Robert the Robot in a Jerry Lewis film. It's the one where he works at a movie studio.
And weren't there several Remco Lost in Space robots in one of the show's episodes--an army of them?
How about Super 8 where the kid has alot of the monster toys and masks and models, including our very own Chris White's Invisible Man kit!!
