Apologies if I'm late to the dance, but I just saw this and the hair stood up on the back of my neck.

Yay scatter, always wished i could  see Lon Chaney's performance in this movie.  At least I've now seen a fraction of it.  You've just granted a long standing wish for this 'lil 'ol monster kid.   ;D

I hate to say it, but this "could" be from Rick Bakers stop motion Monster Mash video he did several years ago.
Rick animated the Sideshow 12" figures, and enhanced the stopmotion with some Z-Brush created CGI.
Lon here was one of the figures he used. The lantern was a prop accessory that came with the toy.

I'm very doubtful that this is genuinely old.  It has a "made-up" look.  Judging by the comments at YouTube, it may be the Baker thing.

That's cute, but it already looked like the Sideshow doll just in the still image, before I even clicked play.

Yeah that's a friend of mine, The Phantom Reviewer. He reviews anything Phantom of the Opera. He did it as a joke, i think for April fools day(or Lon's birthday to some) or something. It's funny he still gets requests to see the supposed film reel. He actually had to tell people to stop pestering him about it on one review. Check him out on Youtube if your a Phantom phan.

Edit: I almost forgot an explanation of the clip. It's just a Sideshows' Beaver-hat Man figure moved around with stop-motion.

Bringing this thread back from the dead just because this find is a possible way some footage could be recovered.
Apparently, toy projectors used to come with old nitrate film trims. Someone bought one on ebay and recovered 39 seconds of this lost Theda Bara film. It has caused quite a stir among her fans, some actually calling it a hoax. Then, the full clip was posted.
