Well today just ain't my day. Earlier today I lost my job. Ok, well that sucks but I'll deal with it. Then on my way home someone swerved into my lane on the highway forcing me to slam on the brakes and swerve right. Well then the crap hit the fan, my car spun out of control and almost flipped but instead slammed into the concrete wall which then sent the car shooting back out into rush hour traffic. I really don't remember much after that except that something, later I find out a minivan, slammed into me and threw my car back to the side of the road. Even though my car has 3 of the 4 corners smashed in and the drivers side smashed in somehow I'm ok. A little sore but ok.
So now I'm out my job and my car. Then things got weird. The State Trooper started asking me all these questions about my full name and what name I go by and how many tattoos I have. Then he gets out of his car, cuffs me and puts me in the back of the cop car. Apparently there is some guy out there with the same middle and last name as me, the exact same birth date as me and tattoos on his arms that has warrants out on him in Nevada. Eventually they figure out that I'm not that guy and let me go.
So Monday February 18th just ain't my day... >:(
Oh yeah and I guess I'm gonna need to start selling some stuff so I'll be putting some things in the Classifieds section.
Geez -- what a horrible chain of events! Well -- things kinda HAVE to get better from here, don't they?

Man, that is one bad day. It takes the cake. But at least you are alive and relatively unharmed.
Hello Shawn. Sorry to learn of such unfortunate events. Thank God your okay. Another painful reminder, that outside of this forum, real life is taking place by the minute. And that scares the hell out of me. I think I'll stay right here posting messages. About the only bad thing that could happen that way is listening to the wife complain that I'm spending way too much time on the computer. That and carpotunnel. Hang tough Shawn! You will overcome!
BTW, I keep telling my wife that I'm a General with an army to run. She just looks at me and says, "whatever".

Omigosh, talk about "I shoulda stood in bed!" Glad to hear you are not injured--gotta look at that one bright facet of the day's doin's. Thank goodness for that. I hope your life will snap back into shape fast.

This is awful news, Shawn. I am glad you are alive and uninjured! I am hoping you find work soon.
Shawn, it sounds like you had one heck of a bad day, but I'm glad that at least you aren't hurt. I sure hope things get better for you soon.
I glad that you weren't seriously injured. Believe me, things could have been waaaay worse. Between you & Tom, I'm starting to think that bad luck is a virus. Who's gonna catch it next & how can we prevent it from spreading? :-\

Unfortunately, you can't. Just like a virus, you pretty much have to let it run its course, and hope for the best. :(

I know everything will work out, I'm not too worried. I really just wanted to post what had happened cause I couldn't believe it all happened in one day! It was only a year ago that I was unemployed so I know how it is and I'll figure something out. My van died about a year ago and then I got this car which is now dead so something will work out there as well.
Hey as long as I was able to walk away from that accident I'm doing good. When my car went flying back out into traffic I thought that was gonna be all she wrote so I'm just happy to still be here. ;D

You are right. It's easy to get caught up in the bad stuff, but in the long run it was your lucky day just for the simple fact that you are still among the living. That could have been the end of the line when that car went back into traffic. Fortunately, it wasn't. :)
Wow that sucks, sorry to hear the bad news, I'm sure everything will work out fine.
