OUTSTANDING! Great homage to what made us girlfriendless geeks! :D

Same ingredients list on the back, just "Safe" and "Non Toxic" on the front now :D
Bobby, Great Pic!
That was a really cool video, Dan. Very informative. It's great to be able to put a face with a product. I can't believe that I never knew who created the first vampire teeth ("evil teeth"). I have very fond memories of those simple products. I must have found a million and one uses for Vampire Blood, even though it was thinner than the garish Hammer blood I was used to seeing in Dracula movies. It still scared Mom (good ol' Mom) good enough!

EXCELLENT JOB, DAN! How well i remember all that stuff...especially the Vampire Blood, [my friend used to DRINK it!] Fangs and Scar Stuff. You really brought back some wonderful memories for me...THANKS!
I remember using it to forge Dracula's signature, and then tried selling them to the kids in the neighborhood for a nickle. Frankenstein used a blue ball point, but had VERY shaky writing. :D That vampire blood went on everything, as long as it wasn't something that didn't belong to me. And the Evil Teeth! How many times have those been knocked off?
That stuff was chicken soup for monster kids.
I loved it. Very nice! Pioneering, in a way! Thank you Dan for putting that together.
Really cool! Thanks for creating and sharing this!
Wow, I never knew that the package changed after the recall. Mine is pre-recall - I need a post recall tube! I also need some Evil Teeth in a bag, come to think of it. It never ends!!! :o
That was so much fun to watch! Thanks a ton for being a part of that and posting here!
Wow! That was so cool!
This was really cool! Thanks for sharing it. I laughed so hard when I remembered the Scar Stuf directions. The" roll it up like a worm" line was written for kids like me, who needed precise instructions to do the simplist things. :)
I need the Werewolf Monster Makeup Lab, the Ugly Face, a better condition example of Creepy Skin, the clown ears, some more "The Face" boxed kits, and especially the Incredible Melting Man boxed makeup kit!
Bravo Dan, Bravo! I think you may have just made my entire month with that video. What a cool thing it is to sit and watch this video with friends while pulling out the exact same product that their seeing on the screen. I always say it but we're all so lucky to have been brought up during this time. Thanks for taking the time to post this Dan. Just great stuff!
Dan--great to meet you and thanks for showing this at Monsterpalooza
I'll be in touch

That was a cool video Dan, thanks for posting it. Brought back some great memories.
Being a pro wrestling fan as a kid in the 60's-70's, I had another great use of "Vampire Blood". I would use it when pitting my G.I.Joes, Captain Action & Johnny West against Chief Cherokee, Geronimo, Silver Knight, etc. in bloodbath wrestling matches! It always wiped off clean! And disturbed my mother...
What a gory kid, I was.
Wonderful, I wish every childhood plaything had a nice tribute like this for it. I
Great Stuff Dan, thanks for posting!
BK
The presentation was absolutely freaking hysterical! And the memories and stories were really informative and fun... I wish someone had been recording the whole thing...
I missed the Imagineering presentation, but Did record Dan's Captain Company event. From the front row the angle was a little high, but you're welcome to a copy, when I can get the Mrs to burn copies.

I STILL do that! Most of my LJN's were covered in the stuff....HAHAHA....Good post Primate! The WORST one is when kids take a red sharpee to a face of a wrestler. It is permeanate. I can't get that crap off.
That was fantastic Dan! I loved watching your little documentary! Brought back a lot of memories. I had the blood, teeth, and claws, and even had some of the green Dragons Blood!
That was wonderful, Dan! Thanks for posting that. I was born in 1986, so I'm not sure if what I used was Imagineering products or a knock-off brand, but I do remember having wax skin, vampire teeth, and a tube of "blood" at all times during my childhood. Those were the essentials for scaring my sister.

Dan, this is a wonderful little tribute! Kongrats on a job well done!
(It gave me some happy memories of how my brother and I would try to artfully drip fake blood down our faces.)
Slick production. A definite labor of love.
As a kid I used it, loved it, and used it even more.... Thanks Dan....for always tugging at my monster kid heart strings! Excellent job!
Adam
Thank you Dan for putting this together ! I've still got a lot of my Imagineering stuff and it all still works ! I used a bunch of the stuff on my kids last Halloween, and on a low budget sci-fi film I just worked on. In many ways , the Imagineering stuff looks better than the very expensive " professional grade equivalent.
Why is it that you cannot find the stuff on Ebay IF they made thousands of them? I rarely find one. Am really looking for vampire blood.
Their tough to find because every kid back then ripped them open to enjoy them. As a seasoned toy collector, I'm constantly amazed at just how many boxed and carded figures have survived the tests of time. Just ask yourself how many toys that were under your Christmas tree did you leave in the package? I'm guessing not many if any at all. Heck, mine were ripped open literally seconds after they were unwrapped. Still, as you know, " these toys have a way of finding their way in to collectors hands that love them". Sound familiar? It should, it's a quote from Ray Castile that he used in one of my articles for Lee's Toy mag.
Bane,
I think it's because no kid that ever lived could buy a tube of vampire blood and NOT open it immediately and pour it on his arm or neck. I don't know how long that stuff would last unopened, but after being opened I would think it would dry up in a matter or time. Maybe someone here with greater knowledge of the ingredients can commnet on that.
The hardest part of having the Imagineering stuff was rationing it out so that it would last as long as possible. I only got one tube of blood for the Halloween season, and there were so many things that needed a dose of Vampire Blood. I rarely had any left by the time Halloween rolled around.
The one consolation for summer vacation coming to an end was knowing that all of that cool Imagineering stuff would soon be on display at our local dime store. Around mid-September, every year, I'd eagerly await it's arrival. By Halloween, I would have gone through a dozen or so pair of glow-in-the-dark evil teeth, at least that many tubes of vampire blood, and enough scar stuff and bloody orbs to have made up an army of zombies. Some of my favorite childhood memories are attached to those wonderful Imagineering products. Thanks Dan, for a nice little trip down memory lane. I could have watched hours of interviews like those you conducted. It never fails to amaze me that so many of us have shared a collective childhood. Your memories are my memories too.
That was awesome.
A very heartfelt tribute! Oh, man, I LOVED 'the Face' make-up kits.
We had the Skull...and the Mummy, and the Ghoul. The Ghoul I used as a Phantom of the Opera face...
Good times.
That video tribute prompted me to dig this old photo out.

That's my brother James, in a Halloween costume of his own creation...using Imagineering's The Face (the Mummy), and the Spooky Eyes.
I recall the costume smelled like Talcum power (since he patted himself down with it liberally.)
And Yes, those are REAL chains.
He is a stickler for detail.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really great photo!
And thanks for making that tribute Gracebuster, it's awesome!
That picture is great! He's also wearing Topstone monster hands.
He looks like we could be related

Nice "Halloween III" masks in the background. Who knew they would become so popular with collectors at the time?
These Imagineering products and the Dick Smith horror/monster/gorilla make-up kits were all crazy influential on me as a kid!
That was a great tribute Dan. I had tons of that stuff when I was a kid.
That was great, thanks for the post!

Dude, I just crapped myself!
Seriously.
Oh, and your brother WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am humbled by this Imagineering collection.
And yes, certainly JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But humbled never the less.
;D
Fortunately I have seen pics of his collection before, otherwise I would be in the poopy pants club with you. Great collection!
Why is that one tube of blood encased in lucite?
The one tube of Vampire Blood in the case is one of the original loose packed ones from 1969. As far as we can tell that may have been the first year of sale and the tubes were sold loose in a dump bin...later to the cards we all know and love. My brother has an ad sheet/order sheet that shows a photo of the dump bin blood from '69............................Larry
I've learned something new. I never knew that Vampire Blood was sold uncarded. I also didn't know it dated back as far as 1969. Thanks for the info.
