Oh my. So terribly sorry to learn this. My prayers are with you Amber and your dad. We love him a great deal. We're an army of one around here, and when one of our own is experiencing difficulties .. the whole army feels it. Wish him our best. Palms to the sky.

Best, Terry.

This is Amber again and I have a question? Is there a time delay on here? I see a post that my Father supposedly made today but he couldn't have?
What happened with my Mom was a day or so ago?
    Thanks
    Amber

His time setting is way off. If you let me know what time zone you're in, I'll fix it.

Speedy recovery to Dad!

Amber,
SO sorry to hear about your dad...certainly not surprising considering all the stress he's been under recently. Please give him our best wishes for a rapid recovery. He probably received a package from me today. Please tell him i hope he's back home soon and that he enjoys the contents.
                  Best,

Your father could really use a break.  It seems like the forces of nature are turning against him.  One catastrophe after another.  This is ridiculous.  Enough of this.

Hey, Universe!  I'm talking to you!  Leave this man alone!  He's had enough of you, and so have I!  So stop vexing him.  Take your hands off and step away.  His bad luck is OVER.  Not one more thing will befall him.  I am ordering you to STOP NOW.  Your curse is LIFTED.  Your test is CANCELLED.  Be gone.

I think Tom will feel better soon.

Amber,
I'm very sorry to hear this. Poor Mr. Collins has been going through one bad break after another. The forces of nature really do seem to be working against him. I sure hope things get better for him soon, and I too wish him a fast recovery.

Amber,
I am saddened by this news. All of these bad breaks have taken a toll on his heart. I, along with the other members of UMA are praying for a speedy recovery & a great year because it has been extremely harsh so far. Let Mr. Collins know that he has absolute love & support from ALL OF US. Be blessed, Amber.

I'm really sorry to hear about your dad.  You guys are having a real string of bad luck, my prayers go out to you all.  My dad has had a couple heart attacks, too, and if it's any consolation; medical science has really moved forward in the area of cardio treatment.  Hopefully he will be on the mend soon.

Hey Amber,  it sounds like it's been really rough on your dad as of late.  Be his rock.  Maybe curl up on the sofa with him like you were still his little girl and watch a monster movie.  I know as a dad that would really affect my grim outlook on recent events.

Best wishes to you all.

Well I just found out that I go in on Thursday for the pacemaker. They wanted me in on Wednesday but I said no not on my birthday! I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm scared to death. I'm considered high risk because I have a damaged Trachea from when I was a kid and my Dad kicked me in the throat. This makes it very hard to insert a breathing tube. The last time I had surgery on my knee I went in to congestive heart failure and landed in the ICU.Another facter
is I have only 1 1/2 lungs I had half a lung removed from service injuries in Vietnam.
With all  this I think I kind of have a right to be scared?
The 2 big things I have going for me is my belief in God and my family.I believe thats enough to pull me through anything. Please keep me in your thoughts and if all go's as planned I'll be home on Saturday. My daughter will keep you up to date on my progress and if all is well I'll tell about everything myself on Sunday.

Thanks to all of you for all your good wishes.I'm still scared to death about the whole thing but I'm trying real hard to stay postive. The one thing other then the surgery that I'm not looking forward to is the long recovery time.I hate being bored! There wont be a hell of a lot I'll be able to do for a while. My wife was looking around to see if she could find any models I might like to put together. She said that not a lot of stores carry them anymore and the models she did see she knew I wouldn't be interested in.Both my wife and my daughter work so that leaves just my dog Bowzer for company. He a great dog but not much for conversation.lol!I'll have a nurse checking in from time to time and I also have a medical alert that go's directly in to the 911 center.

I just got back a little while ago from giving blood for my surgery on Thursday.I wish that I could still give it on a regular basis like I used to.Ever since I've become diabetic they wont take it anymore for use on others. I strongly suggest if your healthy and able that you give blood. You never no when you yourself my need it and if enough people don't donate, it may not be there for you.

Tom,
I'm sure i'm not alone in saying i'll be thinking about you tomorrow and sending out as many positive vibes as possible. My wife had recent hysterectomy surgery and although it was less serious than yours, She was surprised at how smoothly everything went and how well the anesthetic worked. I've heard from other people who underwent your type of surgery how they started feeling surprisingly better IMMEDIATELY after the procedure. My mechanic had similar surgery last year and said he couldn't believe how much better he felt upon waking up. He thought it was just the drugs, but the doctor said it was because everything was now flowing as it should be. Keep thinking positive thoughts, no matter how uncertain you are. Zacherley just spent 3 weeks at the hospital followed by another 3 weeks in a rehab facility, and although he didn't require surgery, his mind and resolve were as sharp as a tack and i believe it was his iron will that pulled him thru his ordeal. No small feat for a man about to turn 90... Stay optimistic and strong. We'll all be pulling for you.
                                                                                         Best Wishes,
                                                                                                             Mike Gilks

Happy birthday.  Let us know how you are doing as soon as you feel up to it.  Just don't come back speaking in Bela Lugosi's voice, ranting about having the strength of a hundred men.
