Not associated with much in the way of genre, Miss Havoc did appear in an OUTER LIMITS episode, and some other tv work like MCMILLAN & WIFE, Disney's THE BOY WHO STOLE THE ELEPHANTS, NIGHTSIDE, MURDER SHE WROTE, and RETURN TO SALEM'S LOT, June Havoc, a singer and dancer in vaudeville, was the sister of famous stripper Gypsy Rose Lee--the musical GYPSY being the story of the two sisters' show biz careers. Miss Havoc had an interesting claim to fame in another respect, too--she was involved in the bizarre Depression-era money-making event, marathon dancing. She and her partner once participated in a marathon that lasted for 4 months. During that one, she put in 3000 hours on the dance floor, which garnered her and her partner only $100. An interesting show-biz life, in later years Miss Havoc did much work on the stage and at one point portrayed Mrs. Lovett in a production of SWEENEY TODD.

Wow! She was some looker! It's nice that she lived to a ripe old age.
AH, June Havoc! She really was what we'd have called in my teen years 'a smokin' hottie!'. And golly, 97 years old... a nice long run!
You know, Robert, another weird little connection to this board is that those dance marathons, especially the Depression-era kind popularized in stories like They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, happened to be one of Tod Browning's favorite pastimes. He wouldn't dance, but he'd watch people dropping for hours, according to David Skal's book about him, Dark Carnival.
I wonder if they were ever at the same marathon?
At any rate, God rest you now, June. You've earned it.
