Title: Finally............The Creature from Amok TIme
Post by: kklloo on March 10, 2010, 09:49:49 AM
I was at Amok yesterday and they finally received their shipment of The 22.5" Creature from the Black Lagoon. I'll have to go back, later this week to pick it up, as well as the other 12" figures they received, Zacherly, Horror of Party Beach, The Sun Demon. Seeing it up close and personal, they did one heck of a job.

kklloo, could you ask them 'whats up' with
their 22" Karloff Frankenstein fig?
I can't find it listed on their website anymore-
do they have a release date for this?

Can they give any hints at other Classic Monsters
they plan on making in this line?

The Creech looks great!  Can't wait to add him to my
collection.

Yeah, I asked about the Frankenstein piece and they said not for a long while. They are not doing any more Universal, it was too much of a hassle. The delays were mostly on Universal's part. I like their 12 inch line. I'll ask what else is in the works next time I go, which should be later this week.

Hi Brian  - actually I have heard no updates from them.  My pre-order has LONNNNGGG been in place and I never changed it (although a couple of my pre-orders had to cancel due to cash and I think having given up on the idea).   I'm expecting eight of them and seeing kklloo's post is the first update I heard about.  Hopefully we'll be getting an update from Paul this week yet.  I'll let you know!

Did they say anything about possibly canceling the Frankenstein figure?  I placed my pre-order with them when they first announced it.  It has neen a l-o-n-g wait.

Glad to see they came through with the Creature.

If Amok Time is done with Universal, does that mean that the 12" Mord the Executioner is off? It's a shame that Universal makes it so difficult on toy manufacturers. They should be ecstatic that they can still make money off their old properties.

Mord is part of the Karloff series that is being made by Executive Replicas. As far as I know that figure will be produced. They have a lot of stuff in the pipeline, it just takes awhile to get things done and into collectors hands. In the best of times it's difficult to get factories to focus on small production runs, so you can imagine how the economy has thrown a monkey wrench into everyone's production schedule. Thanks to all who are supporting the efforts of Amoktime and Executive Replicas.

Hi all - my order of the 23" Creatures is shipping out to me tomorrow, 3/17.  I should have them by Monday the 22nd.  I pre-ordered eight of them way back when and had three cancellations.  If you're interested, please send me a PM or email.  I'm offering these for $139.95 plus actual shipping cost.  I'll post in the classifieds as well.  Thanks!

As long as the quality of the E xecutive Replicas/Amoktime product remains at such a high level, I will continue buying their outstanding products. I have all the time in the world.

Thanks for your support. This last run of figures came out very nice. More stuff is in production and new prototypes being worked on so hopefully collectors will continue to support these small niche products.
