I was watching this auction; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230429819681&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230429819681&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT) recently, wondering if a 4 dollar starting bid was worth it. A short time later I'm thinking it was because someone must have e-mailed the seller and got them to set up a buy it now on it for 10 bucks.

There has been some discussion on the board from time to time about e-mailing a seller and making an offer even if "Buy It Now" or "Best Offer" isn't an option.
I never understand a seller that would list something then get an e-mail requesting a buy it now option be placed. If someone is willing to take the trouble to e-mail you and pay over what you wanted for a starting bid in the first place then surely reason should tell you there are a ton more people out there willing to pay that plus more. I suppose it's all in the risk, if the auction had run its course maybe the mystery buyer would have gotten the item for $4 but then again maybe it would have sold for $15, $20 or who knows.
So what value would some of you place on this little charm?
I was watching that one. :-\
