The beautiful actress Jennifer Jones has died, aged 90. Her notable genre film, PORTRAIT OF JENNIE, with Joseph Cotten and Ethel Barrymore, was a strange story of ghostly love and how it saved a failing artist--an unusual plot, perhaps time-travel-based, perhaps spiritual. Released in 1948. Miss Jones was also notable in SINCE YOU WENT AWAY (1944). She will be remembered by some for her last film, TOWERING INFERNO, one of the many popular disaster films of the '70s.
...and co-starred with Vincent Price (and his ex-wife Edith Barrett) in THE SONG OF BERNADETTE.

I remember visiting the NORTON SIMON Museum back in 1977...right after we moved to California. The beautiful portrait from PORTRAIT OF JENNIE was there, and it was Stunning!
