Title: My cool FX score
Post by: Bendyzaius on January 29, 2008, 11:51:25 PM
Hey guys,  Went down to FX in Orlando this past weekend and found this.  Thought you guys might like to see him.  I have seen this in the mailer box before but I think this package is much rarer, a European only issue I believe.  The guy I bought it from was from Germany.  The best thing is it is dead mint, NRFB, case fresh.  I don't even think the door on the box was ever opened.  The figure is still tied inside.  I love this thing!  Got a great deal at $65.00 too.  Thanks for looking.

Ed

Only $65??? Holy crap that's a GREAT deal. It's worth about 3 or 4 times that much. I'm very jealous, I've wanted that for quite awhile now. Good score!!

I'll third that, the box alone would sell for more.  Congrats on a great figure!

Hey, this is one of the few monster items I had as a kid - I even remember the box!!!
It was was for sale in Germany around 1979. Congrats to that cool score!

Thanks guys,  I didn't want one of my early posts here to be a "Na,Na, look what I got", but I thought you would like to see him and know what's out there.  There was not a lot of vintage monster stuff there.  One booth had two of the Hasbro Mystery Games, Drac & Frank for 175 ea and a bunch or original Aurora kits including the Bride along with monster soakies.  Other than that not very much aside from the usual monster Megos etc.

Ed, I'm glad you posted your find, and it's not a "naa, naa" kind of thing at all.  I know that I share in the excitement of these great finds, and I appreciate these kinds of posts.  It also gives credence to the fact that there are still good monster toy finds at toy shows.  The shows are getting smaller, and less people are supporting them; but I find most of the items in my collection going to shows.

WOW!

Love those. Didn't every one here think about this toy the first time  you saw the Pirates of the Carrbeean movie?
Hell, nowhere on the ride do the pirates change from flesh to bones!
The screenwriter (now on strike) plundered the idea from our old mates at Matchbox, I dare say!

Neat! Never saw that before so I don't know much about it, but I'll agree with the others about posting deals. I find it very uplifting! The higher prices get on both new and vintage items, it's always refreshing to hear that there are still deals to be head.

$65.00? Are you kidding me? Incredible! Not much more I can say. These usually sell for at least three times that amount. As a matter of fact, the mailer box that was mentioned was just up for auction a few weeks ago.
