Greetings Boils and Ghouls. I finally got some time today to take some pics and upload them to my Flickr account. This is my most recent custom Mego Monster figure... the first in a series. It is an 8" action figure of the Wolf Man as he appeared on the box of the Aurora model kit. Future ones I am working on include Phantom of the Opera, Frankenstein, and Dracula. Hope you like the pics. Beast witches,
Matt Jaycox

Genius meets art as usual, Matt! Amazing work. ;D
Very, very cool!!
GREAT!!! Congratulations :)
Awesome work, Matt....you are without a doubt the Mego Monster Master!
Beautiful work. I like that first photo where he's looking up as if howling at the moon.
So why isn't the Mummy on your list? I want to see a glow kit styled Mummy. I guess the AHI Mummy already fills that niche, but I want to see it given the prestigious Matt Jaycox MAGE treatment.
Since we're in a Matt Jaycox kind of mood right now, and I don't have any drunk girls scratching at my door at the moment, this might be a good time to introduce you to my little friend. No, I'm not going to post any dirty pictures on UMA. But you might dirty your pants when I show you Matt's other recent creation...
Your usual great work, Matt!
Yes, he IS a Master; but there's a Mistress, too...
(NOW - why won't the board let me insert a hyperlink here?)
Best,
-Craig W.

Just saw the other thread. Consider me soiled. :o
Great job!
Awwwooooo!
Chuck
What a great idea!
Matt, you are a true and original artist.

Craig, no need for the hyper link brackets. Just paste the link url directly into your post and it will be a an active link.
Bravo Matt! Another Mona Lisa to be sure!
Terry-
Tried that. Repeatedly. In two browsers. No luck.
Well, folks, it'll take a hair more effort, but do yourselves a favor and Google -
Laurie Halbritter Monster Crypt
- for delightful work by a soulmate of Matt's!

Laurie is a really good customizer, and not just of monsters... and she's a good friend. And one of my oldest inspirations. We both started out making Super Hero customs over at the Mego Museum, before transitioning into monsters (I no onger make Superheroes, though she does on occassion)
Incidentally, if anyone wants to see some of my other monsters, as well as some of my non-monster works, and an explanation of why I do what I do, go to:

(It's a little long-winded, I know. In my house, anyone who used 3 words where he could've used ten, simply wasn't trying hard enough)
Matt
Wow, impressive stuff!
Guys
Not presented as equal to Matt & Laurie's work, but rather, inspired by it:

This was my attempt at a "Megoesque" (pretty sure I coined that word, by the way...) riff on "What if Aurora's was posable?"
He's got glowing eyes, bolts, and scars; same guy who bought my "Morrow-Art Frankenstein" snatched this one up.
Best,

Rock solid work Craig! I believe you nailed the "Aurora what if" concept to a tee. Thanks for sharing!
Dr. Matt, with each new photo you have a habit of making jaws drop!
Maybe you should have been a dentist...
Thanks, Terry!
Mods, how would you feel 'bout establishing a Sticky "Customs" thread? (And no, I don't mean those ones where you used the wrong paint on the wrong plastic, & it never dried!)
I have a couple others folks might enjoy (Max used to own one...), and I always enjoy seeing the works of The Old Masters, like Matt & Richard...
Best,
-Craig W.
There IS such a folder: Enlistee's Art, in Memorable Memorabilia. I think the sculpts by folks like Matt and Adam Chiet and others ARE art! Would add to the folder very nicely.
But one in the monster toy board would be okay with me. I do tend to think of it as the board for commercial rather than one of a kind toys, but either board would be fine.
Thanks, Head Man!
I thought that folder was for mainly 2-D stuff...
Best,
-Craig W.
Why should it be? Art's art!
Schmock! Schmock!
Why not a section of the gallery for these customs?
Great Job Matt
I love your customs
Vinny
