Title: Comic Book Charecters Vs. Monsters
Post by: BlackLagoon on August 30, 2009, 09:41:35 PM
Just going through some monster stuff, old action figures and comic books (hey it was was a day that ended in Y!) Anyway in the spirit of a couple "melee" threads I started a few months back...let this be the battlegrounds for comicbook/monster war of epic proportions!...let your imagination run wild, I'll start you off...

The Avengers (original) Vs. Ymir

Batman Vs Michael Myers

Ghost Rider Vs. Dracula (I know we've seen this before)

Aquaman Vs Creature from the Black Lagoon

Fantastic 4 Vs Godzilla

Wolverine Vs Wolf Man

Thing Vs Mighty Joe Young

...any takers on how these battles pan out?

How about Frankenstein vs Howard the Duck?

QuoteFrankenstein vs Howard the Duck?

There was a Howard-Dracula story in Marvel's B&W HOWARD THE DUCK mag and it was pretty funny. It pulled of the A&C trick of handling Dracula with humour but also respect enough that soiling his regular adventures was never an issue. It even set up a regular TOD character for a change that stuck in Marvel's other titles. You know, back when they actually gave a shoot about continuity.

I'm also pretty sure the FF tangled with Godzilla in Marvel's Big G comic.

I really like Wolverine Vs. Wolfman...talk about a viscious battle!! Agility, speed, strength, heightend senses on both sides, healing factors on both sides...it would be bloody my friends. I think Logan takes it if he can hang on till sunrise...

Now..as far as getting bit and contracting "the curse"...Remember Wolverine's healing factor is incredible...25 beers and not even a buzz, over 80 yrs old and looks 40 something, the ability to host an admantium skeleton, hands that heal after every "Snikt!"....So, are we sure that his body would reject the curse?? I remember in the 80's going back to "Fall Of The Mutants" he was turned into something that couldve passed in Aliens..but it didnt last. Being the curse is just that, a curse and not a chemical agent, I would be curious to see how that went.

Godzilla Vs Fantastic 4?? Doc, ya gotta give Reed Richards more credit then that! They kept Galactus at bay! That dude eats planets!!...I have to think, even if it meant recruiting villians (which Reed has done before in the past i.e. Dr. Doom) They would give the G-Man something to think about before he crushed Tokyo....again.

Avengers Vs UMA??.....Pfffttt no brainer, we win. A good mix of brains, brawn and all things macbre....Assemble this!! We win!!

I just lost my breathe on that one Barlow...2 of my favorite charecters in the world. That would be a CLASSIC battle in every sense of the word. Kong is no joke, but man Devil Dinosaur has ruined alot of peoples day before!! Good call!

Gotta disagree with ya Doc.  Batman has survived the Joker, Killer Croc, ect. , while Michael has been defeated by his little girl niece and a normal human named Loomis.  By a CUTE LITTLE GIRL, man.  Bats wins.  C:)

I agree with Creepy, Batman wins.

First he would break Myers' arms, beat him in the head and leave him tied up waiting for Arkham to pick him up. Batman against a knife? Please, the Dark Knight wins.

BTW, Just realized that fantasy jumped out in front. It was supposed to be comics vs monsters, not the new Black Panther vs. Catwoman.

So: I like the idea of Wolverine vs. Wolf Man. Wolverine wins. Aquaman vs. the Creature is cool too. Go with the Creature on this one.

Remember when Catwoman and Vampirella teamed up in a graphic novel with artwork by Jim Balent? They were against each other at first. Anyway it was a cool story.

Aquaman vs. the Creature is cool too. Go with the Creature on this one.

No way!, all Aquaman has to do is call upon his sea friends(sharks) and they would rip Creature to shreds.

You ever seen what FIRE  does to Rubber?
Godzilla would flame Reed Richards, he would be a melted blob ;D
Then he would Flame The Thing, and after rock gets real hot, he crumbles.
Invisible Girl, would go invisible and run off screamin like the B Zombie Censored, she is.
Human Torch well he would become a Godzilla groupie

He turns him into wax? What the hell is that pic??

Reed and the rest of the family endure the attacks, then send Godzilla and the rest of the Toho gang into the 5th dimmension by using the Ultimate Nullifier...which basically turns all the users thoughts to reality. There in chaos the monsters are doomed to battle Fin Fang Foom for all eternity.

Until Dr. Doom releases them once again...

How about..

S.H.I.E.L.D. heads to Camp Crystal Lake to extract Jason Vorhees...comes down to Nick Fury Vs Jason.

Luke Cage Vs Frankenstein

Hellstorm Vs Pazuzu (Exorcist)!

Agreed.  Myers seems too plodding and slow compared to The Dark Knight.  Bats incapacitates Mikey and delivers him to Arkham, in a heartbeat.      8)

Batman vs. Freddy=

A lot bigger challenge than Michael, seeing that Freddy can create your fears around you.  Batman would still have the training and intellegence on his side.  Batman has defeated others who have induced fears before (like the Scarecrow's and Joker's chemical concoctions), I gotta go with the Bats on this one as well.  Freddy attacks are pretty random and spur of the moment, Batman's training gives him the greater advantage.  Bats puts Freddy to sleep.

Actually it's a grey area but his bones are in his grave and in fact, some evil black-garbed dude out of GREEN LANTERN has been desecrating them to boot. There's a new Batman in town and I give Bruce Wayne 12 months to come back from the grave, or the prehistoric past, or possibly both, since none of FINAL CRISIS or BATMAN RIP made a lick of sense to me.

I havent been following any single title for sometime now but monsters and comic books seem to always find me. From what I understand these "Black Lanterns" are some Green Lantern crossover...is it Darkest Day? I believe..and they seem to be all the DC rage right now, even with the DC Direct toys.

Yes I have come to know about this grey matter in Batman's apparent death and it having something to do with the Green Lantern crossover.

I'm not following the Green Lantern stuff, but Dick Grayson is Batman for now. Evidently, Bruce Wayne got fried at the end of Final Crisis (which I also didn't read, but I did read the last issue to see how Batman died).

It was DC's answer to Marvel killing off Steve Rogers. Maybe to breathe new life into the title. Either way, it was a lame move. Bruce Wayne is Batman, Grayson is Nightwing.

I'm with DLT on this, next year Bruce Wayne will make his comeback. I hope.

I love comics plain and simple.  Batman ain't dead.  Green Lantern certainly is looking more like a movie.  Spiderman is revisiting that awful Clone saga--it ain't the days of Jack Kirby, Bernie Wrightson, and NEal Adams, but there is a lot of fun yet to be had.

In the final issue of his Marvel Comic Godzilla took on the FF, Avengers AND Shield all at once and fended them off rather easily.he even took a hit to the face by Mjolnir and while it hurt him, it basically just pissed him off more. If the Marvel heroes were fighting the actual Toho Godzilla,I think they would all be toast in a hurry! Noone is big enough to even confront him.The best idea would be to somehow enlarge the Hulk to Godzilla size-now that would be an epic battle!!!!!

Has Batman ever gone against Dracula?  He probably has a vampire but the original bat himself?  That one could go either way.  Personally, I think Batman could find a way to take out Godzilla but Drac would be harder.  All he had to do everytime Batman got the upper hand would be to turn into a mist or a bat and fly away.  Course, Bats could pull out his Bacuum Cleaner and make sure he had his rabies shot.
