Title: The Orphanage
Post by: Inkfink on January 12, 2008, 04:57:53 PM
Just saw Guillermo del Toro's "The Orphanage." See it if you like a good ghost story. It is in Spanish so expect subtitles. Anybody else see it?

Is a sad ghost story, here has been a very aclamed Movie. I like it, but not is of my favourites. But not confused, the directed is Juan Antonio Bayona, a 32 year's old young director. Guillermo Del Toro is the producter.
And talking about Del Toro... I'm impatient to see in 2010 "The Mountains of Madness" based in Lovecraft :)

I saw it on Saturday and liked it a lot.  It's very much in the spirit (no pun intended) of movies like THE HAUNTING, THE CHANGELING, THE OTHERS, THE UNINVITED, etc.  I want to get the DVD when it comes out.

I hope that happens!  Del Toro has been working on it for a long time, and the time to do it seems to be now.  Hellboy 2 will probably determine the fate of MoM.

This film has had a loooong, very positive write-up in a recent issue of The New Yorker.

Sounds like a memorable, spooky movie. Geraldine Page, a great character actress, is supposedly magnificent in this. May have to see it this week!

Unfortunately I missed this one.  It was in limited release around here.  I'll have to catch it on DVD.
