Ghouls and gals, it will soon be time to stalk the halls of the Chesapeake Main Library on 298 Cedar Road in Chesapeake for the annual Monster Fest. Panels, talks, a great dealer's room and a costume contest are just a few of the things to do. More programming details will be available as they develop!
This sounds great, looking forward to more info.
Was this the show in years past that had a bunch of Horror Hosts including Count Gore, Bowman Body, Dr. Madblood and our own Penny Dreadful? If so, I'm there!
Hello Baron,
yes, that's indeed the show that had one of the biggest Horror Host gatherings at one event. A few clips are on UTube.
Here's the new website link: http://www.monsterfestva.com/ (http://www.monsterfestva.com/)
The only bad news is that neither Penny Dreadful or The Bowman Body will be attending this year, but it should still be a great and family friendly event for all things scary.
Michael
Monster Fest will be here before you know it!! It has everything a monster lover could want -- a dealers' room, costume contest with great prizes, talks and panels, and admission is FREE!
Yours truly will give a talk and a panel on the Amazing Story of Forrest J Ackerman. The web site, once again, is www.monsterfestva.com (http://www.monsterfestva.com)

The Monster Fest was huge this year and there were even more panels, more documentaries, more cartoons and more merchandise.
David Hawk, Paul Knight and I especially wish to thank thelatewinslowleach, who was doing the presentation on Saturday Morning Cartoons of the 1960s, for finding the head librarian to get him to come on up to the panel room where we were to give our Forry Ackerman talk and put in his password to unlock the computer so we could show our PowerPoint slide show. I hope you had a good time. It was neat to see you up there on the screen, talking about the Bowman Body and many other wonderful horror hosts of Virginia, in the Premiere of Virginia Creepers: The Horror Host Tradition of the Old Dominion.
Hi "Monster Kid". Glad to be of help. best of all, I did learn some things I did not know about Forry from the panel. And my first FM I owned was # 45, which my wonderful Mom gave me when I was sick in bed, home from school. Changed me forever!
We hope even more people drop in next year! ;D
Michael
Hi, Michael,
We are doing a write up of the convention. I know you screened more cartoons than the Groovie Ghoulies. What were the titles of the others you showed?
Fangs,
Monster Kid
Hey,
I also ran several "Milton the Monster" episodes.
