What a career this man had! Looking at the list of films he worked on is seeing a compilation of the many of the major fantasy films from the last 50 years..many of his work is the stuff of movie legend now: the Rhedosaurus, the Cyclops, Talos, the Roc, Gwangi, the living skeletons, the Kraken, Medusa, the Centaur, the Griffin, the Troglodyte, the Minoton, the Ymir, flying saucers, the giant octopus, dragons & many more.
They dont make 'em like Mr.Harryhausen anymore, he was the inspiration for Stan Winston, Jim Danforth, Rick Baker, etc..
Wow, hard to pick a favorite here too, but if I had to take one Harryhausen film to a desert island, it would be 7th Voyage of Sinbad. I think this film started the fantasy wave that I really enjoy, & the Cyclops is an iconic monster image, right up there w/the rest of our collective favorites.
Best movie not considering the spfx: FIRST MEN IN THE MOON
Best movie considering only the spfx: JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS
Best mix of the two: THE 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD
Jason And The Argonauts! great memories watching this as a wee lad with my father and brother...and that battle with the skeleton army? As far as I'M concerned still holds up today, and looks better than a lot of modern cgi.
(if i sound like a cranky old man, it's because i AM ;D )
For me it would be THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD. I really like the mix of creatures and monsters and to me, the human cast was very good (as was the human cast in JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS). Of course, I enjoy them all and have watched them so many times.

Both Jason and Golden age of Sinbad are great movies, but I find myself drawn to vote for Clash of the Titans.
All are amazing movies but 20 Million Miles To Earth is by far my favorite in the list. Love the design of the Ymir.
