Man, I'm getting tired of having to post in this thread!! Frank McCourt has passed away. He wrote (and lived) Angela's Ashes, 'Tis and Teacher Man.
All wonderful books, especially Angela's Ashes.
Mike
RIP.
All his books are intensely riveting. What a great storyteller he was--I just finished listening, for the third time, to TEACHER MAN on cds, read by him. On the printed page, his words brought his family stories vividly to life--in his recorded readings, his voice, his phrasing gave his words even more immediacy--breath and heart. Another great person "away". In NYC, aged 78, of cancer and meningitis. Rest now, Mr. McCourt.
