Title: EVERY OTHER DAY IS HALLOWEEN
Post by: BaronLatos35 on June 28, 2009, 11:27:56 AM
Saturday June 27 was the premiere of "Every Other Day Is Halloween" at the AFI Silver Theater in MD. A retrospective film on the career of Dick Dyszel and his many characters: Bozo the Clown, Captain 20 and of course : Count Gore de Vol. He has been doing this for over 30 years and he was the first Horror Host to go online. He was my childhood Horror Host and it was great meeting him again. It's always very cool when you meet someone you used to watch growing up and they turn out to be just cool people.

Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbkErFJ4v2M

Here's Count Gore and I:

Here's Karlos Borloff and I:

Borloff hosts Monster Madhouse based in VA. First time meeting him, very cool dude. Great show BTW, they usually show Godzilla/Monster type movies in a crazy setting with multiple other hosts. He also gave me 2 DVDs of his show: "Godzilla vs Megalon" and "The Beast From 10, 000 Fathoms". Haven't seen either, looking forward to checking them out.

The 2 disc DVD set will be out later this year. It was great to see this tribute, much like Svengoolie's well deserved 30th Anninversary special. (BTW, anyone have a copy of that show and willing to trade? LMK, thanks)

Man, I love this stuff!

p.s. sorry about the photos, they were from a cellphone. You can still click it and see a small pic.

This film is showing at the San Diego Comic Con this week.

Great news for DC area film maker C.W. Prather and horror host Count Gore!

Cool! I remember Capt. 20 as I was stationed close to the DC area during my last year in the service. I missed Count Gore de Vol some how though. (Off topic, but I also recall a crazy DJ in the DC area called the "Grease Man". I can only imagine what became of him!)

Greaseman got fired for racially BS comments about MLK. Good riddance.

Count Gore beat SNL in the ratings his first year. Great for a local show.

Wow, I guess I'm not surprised he was fired, but I didn't know he was that stupid. Anyway, Capt. 20 rocked! I loved the DC area the 1 1/2 years I was there.

To the tune of a Buggles song. "SNL killed the Horror Host star."
