My Grandson Jake was out this afternoon playing in our front yard with a small Frankenstein figure that wicked Lester had sent me for a diaroma.
I didn't see what happened but Jake said a few bigger boys came bye and asked if they could see it? When Jake held it up for them to see the one boy punched him in the stomach and grabbed the figure and ran.
Jake came in doubled over and when he was able to get his breath back told my Wife and I what had happened. We rode around in our van for a while but were unable to find the kids that did this.
Its really hard to try explain to Jake who's 8 and his 5 yr old younger Brother why some people do the type of things they do.Were just thankful that Jake wasn't hurt any worse then he was. Now,he's just really angy and says he not trusting any other kids around his stuff!

Buddy,I feel your pain and am glad your GS was not physically hurt seriously. I know the loss of the Frankie is a big shock.
Dude, this is Deja Vu for me. I'm sure you may have had me relate it before.
Age 5 I had 2 Pop Top monsters. Witch and Executioner. My pride and joy. Big kids from down the block pulled the same scenario on me. I never got em back.
I will never understand why one kid would beat another one up over a fricken toy no matter how cool it is.
Tell Jake I am sorry and am thinking of him. Hope the little bastige that jacked him up gets bit by a rat. >:(
Mike
Thanks Mike,
We just put him and his Brother to bed a little while ago. He's still pretty upset but hopefully with a good night sleep he'll be a little better in the morning?
My Wife is just afraid that he may have a nightmare over this.
We just got the both of them over having nightmares because of their Mother running out on them with a man that all ready has a small son around Nate's age and to top it all off she goes and gets pregnant and has a baby girl by this clown!
The boys now have a complex that their not good enough so thats why Mommy left and got new kids.Thank God my Son brought them to stay with us so that we can show them how great and loved they really are.
Enroll them in a MArtial arts class. They will be distracted, improve thier fitness and learn how to deal with bullies.
Hey Tom, how big was this Frankenstein that got stolen??

It is sad when it comes to to this. But in this violent day and age fighting skills are a must, My daughter at age 12 was doing 4 ft jump kicks and breaking 1" thick boards. Reason we enrolled her,Mild cerebral palsy and getting picked on in school. she ended up beating the crap out of a couple guys that outweighed her by 20# in class. It is a shame that we cannot just "all get along"

It was the Mc Farlaine Playset from several years ago. About 4 1/4 inches tall. Which is the same size as the little prick that hit Toms GS. >:( This is just totally pissing me off.
Aww, the poor little guy! Martial arts is a great idea. It's more than self defence. It teaches them self discipline and gives them great self esteem. Remember "The Karate Kid"? It's like that only more ordinary than a movie. Good luck. Bullies are awful. I hope that's his first and last encounter with them. God Bless you for being such loving grandparents. You might want to take them for therapy to help with their feelings from what their mom did to them.

That, my friend, is the first best step to helping both boys.
Seriously, look into counselling and/or something like a martial arts class. Or fencing, or sports - - whatever the kids show an interest in. Self confidence will come.
They are in good hands already. They will be fine.

Amen. There will always be bullies of various sorts in their lives (from the schoolground to the boardroom), but how you handle/are handling those moments, will assure that those bullies remain pathetic annoyances rather than traumatic problems which bear them down.
Rest assured also, that the kids who did this might've gotten away with the act, but they will never get away from the prison that is being a loser in life if their own households are so messed up that they have become such jerks; they're living a life that will
never be able to hold a candle to what you've given, and will always give, your boys. They lost a toy, but can never lose
that.
Mike C.
The boys will be going to counciling. There Dad will be coming this Friday for the weekend and he has an appointment on Friday to take them.
Both boy's were in Pee Wee Football in NC and I'll get them involved up here when the sign up begins.Jake is no wimp and if he hadn't been taken by surprise by the bully would have fought back.If Nate was out there with him he would have what he calls picked up an equalizer such as a board or rock or something and went to work on the kids.
When it comes to fighting Nate has no fear and I don't no if that a good or bad thing?

Sticking your neck out is one thing, but I admire Nate for his courage regarding people such as these. Ask yourself, "is the hill worth dying for?", it's a folksy little measuring stick, but it's apt. If it is, let 'em have it. It's very sad that the hardball approach is the only thing some people respect and understand.
Fortunately that's not most of us. Nice guys may finish last, but they finish BEST.

Heah man, I have 2 little boys as well (8 yrs old and 2 yrs old) and so I can relate. Anyway, I have both McFarlane Frank playsets that are just sitting in boxes, if you want them you can just have them, I feel totally sick about what happened to your grandson. PM me and I can mail them to you if you want.
The whole story just stinks..I'm really sorry for your grand kids, it just is'nt fair and it isnt right. I firmly believe in anything that makes kids stronger against this kind of nonsense. Martial Arts are fantastic. It used to be pretty costly but prices have come down alot for a monthly membership. In some cases you can even find local youth centers who give lessons on a weekely basis for free!!! Same thing with boxing, or wrestling.
Even stick and ball sports...it isnt the actuall contact that makes the kid "tougher". If he takes to one of these activities he soon may surround himself with other guys that are on his team or at his practice etc. Most bullies are punks and usually dont mess with a football player or hang out at basketball games.
This is just a soft spot for me, two things I cant stand is a bully and stealing. Its just garbage. I grew up in a rough little town and when I was much younger, it happend to me as well...life goes on. However at 32 years old with martial arts and weights..if I knew then what I know now it would have been much different.
I dont condone violence but I'll say this...if it's an adult..run for your life and find another adult you can trust, if there is a gun, knife, or anything else..do the same and scream. If its one kid on the street putting his hands on you? I would NEVER fault the victim for putting up his guard and landing one right on the button. That is what the majority of bullies need anyway, an honest a**whooping.....Hope your grandson bounces back soon!
(( ..hey i feel for you...)).we just cant always be by our childs side ....i to have sons one 25 and 14 ..my 14 year old is 6.2 ..195 ...he got pick on in school early too he got into his share of fights i have always told him to stand your ground and fight if its only a must.......myself ..my dad did this to me at the age of 8 ..i always ran home after school when they took my lunch and my batman lunch basket the same two kids day after day...one day my dad gave both of those kids 1 dollar each to fight me in my own back yard yes my own back yard. needless to say i kick the crap out of one kid as the other ran away... people say my dad was crazy and from the old school eye for a eye .....well now im 50 years old 6.4 275 and still i always think of how my dad made me a man who never backs down and always fights for his family.......just a little of my childhood ......trust me bringing up boys girls in todays world is very tuff .. i have 3 grand kids all ready....my little girl is 29 ......its a tuff world we fight everyday...if i can help in any way feel free to email me or call i have lots of monster figures lots........big john..
Jake is feeling a little better today.I took him down the basement showed him and Nate the weights his Dad & Uncles used to use to work out.Nate took to them instantly but I think it'll take Jake a little longer to really get in to it.
Nate is I'm afraid more like myself and his Dad then I really want him to be as Both myself and all my Son's when younger would fight at the drop of a hat!
I'm hopeing a little of Jake will rub off on Nate and vise-verse a little of Nate will rub off on Jake???
In our schools, bullying is not tolerated. Threats against other kids are taken totally seriously. Children are taught how to handle bullies. I don't know however, how much this carries into out-of-school life.
Well, the Police just left our house a little while ago.It seems that Nate some how located the boy that took his Brothers Frankenstein figure yesterday and hit him in the head with a board!
Nate ran back here with the boy's Father right behind him.I came out to try and talk to the man but he was very ignorant. We were about to go at it when the police car pulled up.My had called them which I didn't know.
We told the officers our story and they decided that the kid probably got what he deserved!
What what the kid told his Father he broke the figure in half and tossed it off the bridge in to the creek after he took it.
The officers advised us to go to a magistrate if we wanted to press charges against each other.Me having been a cop knew he would tell us that. Were going to wait and see if they go and if they do we'll file counter charges.
I like to thank everyone here for being so kind and offering to replace the figure it really appreciated. If you want to replace it send me an e-mail for the address.
Thanks to all

I really cant believe how this escalated!!! One little schmuck and all this!...Anyway, as long as the kids are ok, thats most important. Toysoldier I think it is GREAT that your introducing the little guys to weights and working out!! What more could a boy need then family, monsters and a weight set?!!?....They have it made!....Get them some Eagles jerseys and they are set!! :)
Oh No!
There's a part two to the story. That stupid bully will probably never pick on Nate again.
Well, I'da clocked the kid too. But really, it's not the kid's fault. Your confrontation with the sperm donor (he's no father) of the thief makes it obvious where the blame lies.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again..........some folks simply should not breed, and some gene pools need to be drained.
Went out this morning to take my dog to a vet appointment with my Wife and we found that all 4 tires on our van were flat!
I guess this thing with my Grandsons and the bullies isn't over??? ??? >:( ::)

As I said buddy............a gene pool that needs to be drained. You need to send the cops over to Inbreeding Central and confront the kids and their sperm donor.
Cann't prove they did it.It;s a better then 99% chance that they did but just cann't prove with no witness.
Besides I think it had to be the Father.
I'll be waiting up tonight with the lights out.I haven't had to use my night stick since I left the force ;D

Were the tires flat like they let the air out? A nasty prank. Or sliced? Total vandalism? Either way it sucks big time. I hope it doesn't escalate more than this. And BTW , that kid had it comin getting smacked with the board.

What does your daughter think of all this?
Thankfully it looks like they only let the air out.My neighbor had an electric air pump and filled them back up and so far they seem to be holding.
As for my Daughter she thinks the whole situation stinks! She's also upset that Nate went looking for the kid and thinks he should just let it go.
I agree with her. I think he should just let it go, too.
At this point it seems your dealing with an extremely lower form of life so it may be best to just steer clear of these people. Let it cool off, give them the benefit of the doubt....and then if it happens again...."like a mad dog".
I'd let it slide too. Get Nate interested in something else. It'll be a miserable summer if they are constantly fighting.
Only one way to handle a bully- kick the crap out of him. ;D
As far as were concerned its over. Its them that seems to want to keep this thing going. My Grandsons have been told to stay away from the peoples home and if the kid comes up here to just walk in the house and not say anything.
We'll see how this works and if it works?
monster bob im with you......if the other father is a ass like his son....i would gently rip his face apart . then lets see how acts the next day..etc etc........any one can be a father - but everyone has to be a dad.....win or lose or die trying........my dads way..old school.. big john......
Well I think the problem is solved! My Son,the boys Father is up for the weekend. He met the bullys Dad and I think everything will be fine now.My son Bill is 6'8" 265 lbs with out an ounce of fat on him!
Its really funny how nice the bully's Dad became?LOL! ;D

Yeah, once the jackass realized he was standing up and staring directly into your son's bellybutton, I'm sure it had a mellowing effect.
All bullies are cowards.
Standing up for yourself in the heat of the moment is one thing but physical violence after the fact rarely solves anything.
If you fester and stew over a situation like this you just end up in worse shape.

OOOOOOHHHH I "get it" Stewie Griffin is going to toddle over to the bullies house and ZAP EM with his death ray. Shrewd Tom,Very shrewd. ;)
