Does anyone remember a wacky fanfic in the old FM using this photo? The story was about Dracula being abducted to Pluto, where all the natives drink blood like tap-water, and he fits right in, until he develops a sudden and one-off thirst for real water, which he scoffs from a fountain if I recall, except that on Pluto, drinking H20 constitutes "vampirism".... and they put him on trial as a deviant.
I guess Forry wrote it since the Plutonians had the blood thing in common with Vampirella.... did I imagine this?
Terry, Thank you for the nice big pic of BELA's "Count Dracula" calling card. It is fantastic. This pictures are great and thank you for posting these. I look forward to seeing the new additions each day. David

Yeah, I see Tor and Mrs. Johnson's sigs, but curiously not Ed Wood's, or Vincent Price's and Peter Lorre's for that matter. I wonder if they were even in attendance. Makes me question the validity of that famous quote by Lorre at Bela's funeral! Then again, there was probably another page or two in the guest book I suppose.

Wow! That was actually Bela Lugosi! I liked Dracula meeting Betty Boop. I also enjoyed that animated film The Batman vs. Dracula. He even turned Joker into a vampire and Penguin into a Renfield like slave.
Quote from: Rich on December 09, 2009, 11:19:39 AMI also enjoyed that animated film The Batman vs. Dracula.
I despised that movie. Never cared much for "The Batman" and its quasi-anime style to begin with. "Batman: The Animated Series" was far superior! And there were great Batman vs. Dracula Elseworlds books, like "Red Reign."

Sorry, it was actually titled "Batman & Dracula: Red Rain." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_&_Dracula:_Red_Rain) There were two sequels, "Bloodstorm" and "Crimson Mist." "Red Reign" was the title of the Kim Newman novella that eventually became the book "Anno Dracula."

I feel so bad for Lugosi at the end. Whatever else one thinks of Ed Wood, it was wonderful that someone still appreciated Lugosi, when so much of the world had gone against him.
Ed Wood gave Bela 2 things he desperately needed at the end........a little money and a little hope. God bless Bela and Ed.
