Title: RIP Marilyn Chambers
Post by: Cinemacabre on April 13, 2009, 01:28:54 PM
Marilyn Chambers was found dead by her daughter in a mobile home she had been living in for sometime. An autopsy will be performed. She was 57. MC was the star of Rabid and some other non- genre films.

Oh, my.  This is shocking.  I met her briefly a couple years ago at a con in Chicago.  Very sad, indeed.

Yeah she was one of the best back in the 70's and early 80's. She will be missed

That's too bad. She seemed like a great lady in interviews...i enjoyed her performance in Rabid...  :(

I think RABID is the only Chambers film I've ever seen.  But she seemed very intelligent and charming in interviews.  If she had fallen on hard times in her later years, that's too bad.  She had the charisma to make it in legit films.  If she had been born 20 years later, she might have had a better shot.  Appearing in porn is still a black mark in an actor's career, but I think it is a little more feasible today for a porn actor to break into mainstream films and TV than it was 20-30 years ago.

Wow...and so young. I recall her being at a Chiller convention in NJ some years ago. I was helping Zacherley at his table and she had the one right next to his. When she saw Zach her face lit up and she ran over to give him a big hug, saying what a big fan of his she was. We took a bunch of pics of them together for her. Funny thing was Zach wasn't quite sure who exactly she was. After she left, we explained who she was to him. I'll never forget, how he sat up straight in his chair, fixed his ascot and raised his eyebrows. He was shooting her flirty little glances for the rest of the weekend, which she happily returned. Really a very sweet person, seemingly unaffected by her chosen profession.

                                                                                        RIP Marilyn

May she be remembered for her kindness and gentleness. The portrait of her on the Ivory Snow Box would be pleasing. Peace.

Never seen Rabid, the cover was always creepy looking. I'll check it out soon.

RIP Ms. Chambers.
