Just looking for snipets and videos on youtube on Uncle Forry and I started to wonder..has there ever been an interview where he comented on Star Wars? Or vice versa where George Lucas has mentioned him? Star Wars coming out when it did and the impact it had, I would have to think FJA had something to say about it. Plus on one of the mansion tours on YT very briefly I could see an R2-D2 burried in the background.
Anyone with info, thanks in advance!
I have no specific quotes from Forry on the STAR WARS films, but I'm pretty sure he had some fondness for them. In my collection I have a C-3PO display head, an Ewok display head, and a Supreme Chancellor Palpatine display head that Forry had in the Ackermansion. And (I know, this is silly, but it's pure Forry!) I remember well the Yoda figure he said was given to him by a Japanese fan, which he'd then say "It's a real Japanese toy-Yoda". (big Forry grin at the groans this invariably produced!)

I'm slightly taken back by this, can I ask when you went there? How you met him and how you managed to get those Star Wars display heads from the Ackermansion?...you have to excuse me, but it really wasnt until more recent years that I was aware of the level of his importance..I know that sounds stupid. Since I've come here less then a month ago I have been reading everything I can about him..its really just all very VERY amazing to me.
A lot of issues of FM were devoted to Star Wars so the information should be in those issues. I know whenever I saw him at his mansion or at a show the questions always revolved around the classic monsters
I would think FJA would have liked STAR WARS alot, as he was always more a sci-fi fan than a monster fan, which is odd because he is usually associated with monsters!

With his affinity for cheeseball corniness, I bet he even liked Jar Jar ;)
What! Even Jar jars mom had issues with him!
Mes sa no likeee offspring. (Mommy Jar jar).
I'm very sorry to say I never was able to go to L.A. to visit the Ackermansion in person. I met Forry when he came to conventions in the eastern U.S. (Bash, near Pittsburgh, was the place I was able to spend more time with him more often). When Forry had the sad necessity to sell much of his collection and move to his smaller final home, the Ackerminimansion, I was fortunate to be able to purchase a few cartons of things from the old crowded shelves (Ebay mostly, but some from people who DID attend the sale in person and who later sold things to me). No deep pockets here, so I didn't get any of his extreme "high-end" collectibles, but over the years I've been able to add to the collection and have put together a good representative collection of Forry's things.
Some of these will be taking you off topic here (my apologies!), but just for fun--here's a photo of Forry with a couple other display heads of his that are in my collection now:

Here are a couple more of Forry's, a Klingon and Palpatine:

And a few more--C-3PO, a cylon, and the horror head you saw in the first photo:

When it comes to Forry and the UMA, off topic doesn't exist.

Rob, I was going to say the same thing!
Excellent pics, as always, Robert. One of these days I need to head to Ohio and get a look at your collection up close. Your miniatures and other handmade/custom things really intrigue me!
Thanks again (and again!) for the pics.
Mike C.
