I heard a rumor, I think it was from AIN'T IT COOL NEWS but I'm not certain, about a remake.

Yes, unfortunately it's true.

Platinum Dunes...(Tx Chainsaw Remake, Friday the 13th remake...ETC) is doing the unthinkable.  A Nightmare on Elm Street movie...without Robert Englund in the role that he made famous.

Personally, I think Robert's the perfect age to play Freddy now.
Who in the world could they cast to fill that glove?

My Father-In-Law. He looks just LIKE Freddy, only uglier.        ;D

Its somebody who is "very attractive" and works at a daycare as a gardener.  Not a creepy janitor in a boiler room.  Its also rumored that the allegations that he was a child defiler will be false accusations making for one vengeful ticked off ghost. Because not only did the parent's ice him...but he wasn't even guilty.  That's the rumor anyway.....

If that's so, then it is yet another example of how producers don't get it anymore, at all.

Idiots.

Ah, A Nightmare on Elm Street. I remember that one movie... New Nightmare. You know, the one where Craven is working on a script for a new movie when strange things start happening, and it is revealed that Freddy is trying to cross over into the real world. And the film culminates with the protagonist having a showdown in a purgatory-like place to save an innocent child from said evil creation.

Yeah. I wonder if Wes Craven has ever seen any Coffin Joe films. Somehow, I've got a feeling he would like them.

For people scratching their heads, let me explain.  EXORCISMO NEGRO, a 1970s Brazilian Coffin Joe movie, is about Coffin Joe's creator, José Mojica Marins, working on a script for a new horror film.  He goes on a Christmas vacation in the country to visit some friends/family.  Meanwhile, an evil force is gradually making its presence known through possession and poltergeist-type activity.  It is Marins' creation, Coffin Joe, trying to break out of the movie world and into the real world.  The film ends with Marins and Coffin Joe confronting each other in a hellish dream world, fighting over a child who is to be sacrificed by CJ's followers.

Thank you for elaborating, Raymond. Sometimes I just post things for my own amusement, and I forget that someone out there might want to know why I say them.
