Here's a recently acquired giant ghoul head that appears to have been used in some sort of dark ride or amusement park haunted house. The center of the eyes look like they used to light up, I'll be looking into possibly retro fitting some sort of lighting in them to hopefully get a nice glowing effect for when I have this mounted on a wall. The edges are a little beat up but I think it adds to the charm of it.
Wow! It's huge! :)
If that face jumped out at me from the dark, I'd scream!

Especially if it yelled "Yahahahaha!"
I am located in Ohio. I declare that this looks a lot like the monster head that was displayed overtop of an old style Funhouse I visited. One that you would ride in on a cart on a track (think the Tobe Hooper flick for the gist).
Specifically at a defunct attraction called "Fantasy Farm" Amusement park. this would've been around the 1970's-1980 era.
Now, caveat: I could be misremembering/Mandela Effect, so don't take my word for it. Mayhaps, however....I could be correct? The minute I saw it I felt I had seen it before in real life.
Might be worth investigating to see if it could give you some history....or just lead to a blind alley.
Good luck, great score!!!
Ahh interesting, thanks for the heads up on where this thing might have originated. There's bound to be some old photos that I could match up to this head out there somewhere. I'm excited to have such a huge and impressive looking piece of dark ride / amusement haunted house attraction piece of history in my collection.
It's fun to think of how to accessorize something like this, for example, I'm considering checking Goodwills to find just the right dark blanket/sheet to adapt into a cloak to have draped around the edges of the head, which will make it look even bigger and intimidating than it already does.
