We used to recognize each other at local conventions but I never
bothered to establish any kind of rapport with him. His "Bob's Basement"
book is always a fun read and that "Happy Haunting" video in which he
traveled America with Dan Roebuck is worth a re-viewing every October.
I managed to attend his last live Halloween show, themed around
The Thing. His earlier "Creature" show is actually preserved on
poor quality video:

RIP to one of the greatest Monster fans ever.
Goodbye to the man who spread the love of Monsters, Science Fiction and Fantasy around the world. We will miss him and keep him alive in our thoughts and hearts. My wish whole for his collection to go to the Academy Museum so it can continue to be admired by legions of Monster Lovers.
