wow.
Great actor
So many other actors have named him as the actor they most admired during interviews.
Last pictures I saw of him, he did NOT look well.
He had stopped acting some years ago. What a loss.
Hackman was 95. His wife was only 65.
That's a weird one! Gonna have to wait for more details.
Hackman's daughter says carbon monoxide poisoning is suspected.
I think he was savvy enough not to be heating with charcoal. They must have had a badly vented space heater.
We went to high school with his son Chris. One day, we were making noise
in the alley behind his house until his dad came out and chased us off, lol!
'Saw "The Poseidon Adventure" during its first run. 'Most recently enjoyed
"Unforgiven" and "Crimson Tide". 'All great performances by Mr Hackman.
He'll be hard to replace.

Did he tell you he was gonna nail you for picking your feet in Poughkeepsie.
He was going to make espresso...! (RIP, Gene. Thanks for the memories!)
Finally watched the Invaders episode he did!
I can't remember much from The French Connection 2 except the heroin addiction scene.
That is so nightmarish I never forgot it.
It's looking like Mrs. Hackman died around the 11th due to hantavirus and the pills were for a thyroid condition and did not figure in her death.
Also, Mr. Hackman, who was suffering from very serious heart conditions, had a pacemaker and had very advanced Alzheimer's probably died of heart failure 6 to 7 days later.
What a sad end.

So sad. May they rest in peace.
I was watching Hackman's death scene in Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven.
Little Bill says, "I don't deserve this - to die like this." That line will forever have a haunting double meaning.
60 Minutes Australia did a show about Hackman's death:

Such a tragic death for a dignified, well-respected man.
You deserved much better, Gene.
It is 10:33 PM here and the sound of fireworks is just beginning to die down a little.
I am watching "The Birdcage", 1996.
Funny movie with a dynamite cast. I really appreciate how Gene Hackman could move between portraying very strong, even hard, characters and doing crazy funny roles. Such a fine actor.
Somehow this police bodycam footage of Hackman's house got posted to YouTube.
Amazing house. Not really suitable for elderly people - too many levels to navigate.
