Hello everyone!
I've a question regarding the Dracula poster at the beginning of creepshow in the kid's bedroom.
It's the Universal Dracula poster but it's the french version, edited for the 1966 re-release.
Does anyone know how available that poster was in the US ? The choice of the french version is odd and I haven't found any infos on that.

Many thanks !

Not sure what you mean by "available". You mean like commercial reproductions? I would think originals would only be available from auctions.
I've seen on another feed that this version was available in the US in the 80's in magazines and such but without much details so I wanted confirmation. It would explain why they used it in creepshow because there's no reason why a kid living in the US would have the french version of the poster just randomly, especially if copies weren't readily available.
Hopefully I'm clear this time !
In the movie, did it look like the size of a Frence one panel (47"x63")?
Nope, much smaller. See below :

Probably a commercial repro.

That's a great observation! The choice of the French 1966 re-release poster for Dracula in Creepshow is definitely interesting. While Universal's horror posters were popular among collectors, the French version wouldn't have been widely available in the U.S. at the time, making its inclusion a bit unusual. It could have been a deliberate artistic choice or simply what the set designers had access to—would love to know more if anyone has insights!
