I hope it's not multi-hundred-dollar premium stuff!
Isn't everything these days? 8)
I don't think sideshow makes regular action figures like they used to. They will most likely be very large.
I bet they're gonna look really good tho.

Looking at a photo online is probably about as close as I'll get to one.
The original Sideshow Uni figures are commonly available on the secondary market at prices which are very attractive compared to the stratospherically priced new "premium" figures. The originals are still great figures and if I was a new collector that's the route I would go. I have a real aversion to overpriced new items and I won't support them.

Here's the first Universal Monsters figure they dropped since making the announcement. Gill Beast: Namazu Vinyl figure. No others have dropped yet as far as I can tell. They sent me this link when this dropped 3 months ago because I signed up to be notified when new Universal Monster figures dropped.
Well, there's this one too. if their focus is on non movie aesthetics, I won't even be tempted. Are we sure these are Universal though, and not adjacent to them? At any rate, this one looks nice, but I ain't biting.

I thought the same thing looks good but didn't buy.
If they are going to focus on non movie versions, it just makes it easier for me to save money.
I still don't see anything on SS site that says these are connected to Universal Studios. So perhaps they are adjacent inspirations with no official licensing?

Neither of the two products are produced by Sideshow nor are they licensed Universal Monsters items. The things coming from Sideshow are licensed and on model and haven't been solicited as yet.

There's no way in the world I can afford to buy these at $800 a piece (plus) shipped. It's nice to see though. Even if I could manage it, I dont have the room.
So, the Metaluna Mutant is a Universal copyright character, again? :o
$800 for their Creature. I'd rather buy a vintage toy, but I can't afford an $800 vintage toy, either. Especially after spending $300 for that Mondo!
If I were to spend that much, it would have to be an absolutely killer vintage item.

Watch the video, they show the Creature AROUND 9 MINUTE MARK. Adam Doughtery (Kreature Kid) did the sculpt. He used to frequent here.
It's beautiful! Fantastic job, Adam!

I'm still around! I hope you guys like the creature, I poured 6 months into this guy to make it as accurate as I could. I was told its Land suite swimming, not Ricou suit... but Benny WAS swimming around that universal lot!
I was expecting around a $1200 price tag so I'm very happy its under 1k. Its huge too, about 2.5' tall and I'm sure like any sideshow statue, it'll double in price in 5 years.
Glad you're still here, KK. I thought you swam off, lol. Yes, these are beautiful and will be highly sought after. If I was closer to 30 than 60, I would be all over these.
I wonder if the Creature figure (sans base) the same soze as the other figures?
Yup the same size! When he's in your hand he feels giant. I'm gonna get one for the shop and have a case and stand made for it, I'm so excited. I just wish Benny was around to see it!
When sculpting I did do a Benny portrait under the mask so the eyes and mouth lined up perfectly.
Quote from: kreaturekid on October 23, 2025, 03:25:50 PMYup the same size!
Hello stranger! :)
It's gonna be a literal monster, then! That's a beautiful piece of work! Maybe I'll win the lottery? ;D
Time to take out a home equity loan. How do they think the average person can afford these. NECA will just have to do for now. ( As I plot in the back of my mind on how I could afford getting these, lol) ;D

My bank wouldn't let me take out a loan on my apt. :P
Pitch perfect job on that Creature! That said, I don't collect these so won't be getting one -- but it truly is a piece of art.
Great piece! Finely sculpted. More than I will pay.
I don't collect statues for lack of display space and price. I had rather buy a vintage item if I'm going to drop that kind of money.
Fantastic looking statues, but more of the same theyve been doing. I was hoping theyd be doing action figures again.
Creature is Beautiful! I sure hope a Wolf Man is in the works.
At those prices, I will stick with the original 12" figures that I have. They do look nice and would love to get them, but Sideshow priced me out along time ago.
