Title: NECA Christopher Lee Dracula
Post by: Hatchet53 on February 04, 2024, 05:41:46 PM
Any idea when NECA's Christopher Lee Dracula will actually be released? Was supposed to be 1st quarter 2024 but haven't seen any pre order availabilities yet.

I wouldn't anticipate seeing it first quarter. The US shipping/customs ports are still a hot mess.

So excited for the Neca Hammer line, their new Peter Cushing ultimate figure now seen in preview postings!  Cool.

We know Neca gets all they can from their sculpts, like color, and B/W versions, even Glow versions squeezing a 3rd release out of the same sculpts.

Will the Hammer line lend itself to such re-releases?

Color being their promotional triumph upon these films release, I wonder if, or how Neca could repackage their excellent sculpts for new variations, I don't think B/W versions seem likely.

What do you all think?  Through all my growing up, and from pages of Famous Monsters, and other monster mags, the Hammer Horrors were seen in b/w photos, so perhaps this gives reason.

"Peter Cushion" sounds like it should be discussed on a different type of website.

Sorry.

I expect, and hope they will release Hammer Horrors of these

Lee Dracula, Curse Frankenstein, Mummy, Cushing-Van Helsing, Dr Frankenstein, Reed-Curse Werewolf.

How far they will, or could expand this line for ultimate figures would you want and collect?  Hammers other Frankenstein films featured actors in scars, and stitches, as the featured creations in their continued films, not sure I'd care for figures on these.

Evil Frankenstein, more likely, and Monster from Hell figure too, though an odd design for the creature, given extra interest that Dave Prowse portrayed him perhaps.

I'm bummed they are talking about deep diving Hammer before getting an Ygor, Kharis, Glenn Frank etc...

They've had the Hammer license since October 2020, and haven't released anything. 4 Years and zippo.  Nothing.

So it's only logical that they would switch gears for a bit before they lose the license altogether. The fact that they announced Universal was still in the "it's alive" category is a plus. I thought they were done. Hang in there. We're going to get some good stuff.

I would probably buy a Glow Hammer Dracs if they did him.  He'd have to have the fangs out face though, with plenty of blood on it.

So, apparently NECA has been paying attention to customer feedback. The Horror of Dracula arrived today, and it was packaged well, protected, and the box was great! No bent hanger tags, no crushing, no damage. Yay! i will leave this one in the box, and buy one to open from my local place when they get them in with Vincent Price next month.

I opened mine up, and immediately decided this is the caliber of figure that demands one be kept in box. If this thing had existed 45 years ago, I would probably have played with it til it fell apart. If you want it, it gets my highest possible recommendation.
