After a years long search I've finally found a copy of MCA Videocassette Inc's 1980 VHS release "The Creature From the Black Lagoon" in 3D (with FOUR pair of original 3D glasses!). This is the one with the green lower third on front of slipcover. I can't find recent comps ANYWHERE, just one on eBay (with 2 pair of glasses) that was listed for $225 but buyer took best offer. Is $300 reasonable? Please don't tell me it's worth what I'm willing to pay, because I don't know what to pay! Thanks.
Welcome to the UMA, CDF! :)
Unless you just want this thing to complete your collection, why would you want this old tech when you could get the CFTBL in 3D on Blu-ray?

Unfortunately it's the truth. VHS is a dead media, most people wouldn't pay a penny for one...let alone a thousand. Other people may see a tape for 5-10 bucks and buy it for their collection because of artwork alone or nostalgia. Then there's the VHS collectors who will pay whatever it takes to get a particular release in to their collection.
Thanks guys, appreciate the replies and perspectives. I enjoy collecting all things late 70's to early 90's, and VHS is just one of those things. Saw a guy named Froggy on YouTube, and he turned me on to the whole monsters, horror, sci-fi collecting scene (toys, movies, etc), and now I'm hooked. Anyway, happy to land here at UMA!

People
will pay up for that 3D Creature VHS. I haven't been paying attention to the price, lately, 'cause I know it will be more than I'm willing to pay. The non-3D VHS is good enough for my collection. ;D

Do you also collect 8-track and cassette tapes, Quadrophonic 8-track and vinyl records, Super 8 movie reels and Betamax video tapes?

Depends...what d'ya got? Let me know and I'll send my messenger pigeon over if anything is of interest.
Nothing with the exception of a few audio cassettes and VHS cassettes which aren't for sale. I asked only because I'm always curious about other collectors' interests.
