Universal Studio's first (and best) roaming Frankenstein Monster has passed away.

                                                      Mike Bongiorno, 1946-2023

He was only 4 month older than me.

You can see my original post about him here:  https://tinyurl.com/unafynjv

He lived long enough for me to send him 5 copies of the No. 48 Autumn, 2022 Monster Bash Magazine with my little piece about him.  I sent him a follow-up Christmas card but never heard back from him.  I knew he was in poor health and had moved away from California.

Bye, Mike and thanks for all your patience and help.  You are fondly remembered.

His mask and boots should be in a museum!
He started a fun tradition there at Universal although theme park walkarounds
give literal meaning to the term "sweat equity". Thanks for all those past write-ups
on him, MonstersForSale. 'Seems like he lived a full and accomplished life.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend, Adam.  What a great guy he was to carry on the monster's legacy. RIP

I just received this personal message:

Hello Adam Love:

I'm Mike's sister, Rose Bongiorno.

With Mike's passing I came across your magazine article in his things and it brought back many memories of Mike being Frankenstein when we were little kids.  Thank for your kind words and remembrance in his obituary and on this website.

I couldn't ask for any better reaction to my small effort.
